Student answer (Band 6.0)

From last few years, The technology has been developing rapidly. it is highly controversial issue whether people can watch movies on phones and tablets or should considered cinema as they can have more fun there. However, i believe that first point of hold more strength as compared to second.

To begin with, individuals can watch Films almost free without charging any money or wasting any time on their personal devices, unlike Cinema where they have to pay for Ticket and also need to go there with using any mode of transportations. As a result, which consume a lot of time. whereas, people who prefer to use the phones or other device for movies can utilize that time on some thing valuable. Moreover, people are more flexibles in the context of time. For example persons can watch any film and any time when ever they have time on their cell phones and pads, while in cinema, they have to go on specific time to watch particular movie. Although, people can only watch new movies as cinema paly only new movies, which are recently released, for limited time, on phones and tablets people can watch even oldest movie and as many as they want.

On the other hand, watching movies at home on their personal devices, gives more benefits to the people, nevertheless people still prefer to go to cinema to watch movies with their friends, family and partner, because it provides them a good opportunity to spend time with their family, where they can laugh, cry and enjoy together.

In conclusion, based on the aforementioned reasoning, i still affirm that watching movies on their own devices give more fun and cons instead of going cinema.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the advantages of personal devices are explained with some detail regarding cost and flexibility, the counter-argument regarding the cinema experience is quite brief and lacks depth. The conclusion also contains a slight contradiction, as you mention 'cons' of watching movies on devices, which was not previously discussed in the body paragraphs. To improve, ensure that both sides are balanced in terms of depth and that your conclusion accurately reflects the arguments presented in the body.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand' to link your points. However, some transitions are used incorrectly or awkwardly, such as 'As a result, which consume a lot of time' and 'Although, people can only watch new movies'. These errors occasionally disrupt the flow of the text. To reach a higher band, focus on using cohesive devices more naturally and ensure that sentences are linked grammatically rather than just mechanically.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'highly controversial', 'flexibles', and 'aforementioned'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'first point of hold more strength' (should be 'first point holds more weight') and 'cinema paly only new movies' (spelling error). The range is somewhat limited, and you rely on basic phrasing to convey your arguments. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise academic collocations would improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with articles ('The technology'), subject-verb agreement ('cinema paly'), and sentence fragments ('As a result, which consume a lot of time'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and capitalization. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that every sentence has a clear, complete structure.
