Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is widely believed that their is no requirement to go to the theater because individuals can watch movies on mobile phones and tablets; however, other think that watching films in a cinema provides full enjoyment. While both views has their valid arguments, I largely agree that it should be the individual choice. To begin with, rather than visiting a cinema and spend money on purchasing tickets people can watch movies on their personal devices. Which is not only less expensive but also convenient. Also, it offers no time bonding to see the films, which means audience can watch without interrupting their daily schedule. For instance, it is inexpensive to download a latest movie as compared to buying pass in a theater. As a result, their is no need to go to the cinema to watch movies.
On the other hand, watching first day show in theater often connected to the feeling of many people's. It is not only the way of showing respect or love towards actors but also supports film-stars financially. Moreover, huge screens provides different level of watching experience than mobile phone screens. For example, for some audience large screens are far better than small ones, and money is not an issue. Therefore, cinemas have the full arrangements to enjoy the movie without any cooperation.
In my view, individuals should follow their choices while choosing an option to watch the film because personal satisfaction is significant than others opinion.
In conclusion, tablets and mobile phones are better alternatives to watch a movie but they cannot beat the cinemas experience entirely. According to me, people should choose their watching mediums by their personal opinions rather than influencing by others.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'supporting film-stars financially' is a bit tangential and not fully explored in the context of the cinematic experience. While the position is consistent, the supporting points lack depth and specific, well-integrated examples. The essay covers all parts of the prompt, but the arguments could be more robustly supported to reach a higher band. The conclusion is clear, but the overall development remains at a functional level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'without any cooperation' at the end of the second body paragraph, which does not fit the context. Referencing is generally clear, but there are instances where the flow is slightly interrupted by minor grammatical issues that affect the cohesion of the sentences.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'watching mediums' and 'first day show', though some phrasing is unnatural or imprecise, such as 'no time bonding' or 'huge screens provides different level'. The range is sufficient to convey meaning, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. Spelling is generally accurate, but the word choice occasionally feels repetitive or slightly off-target, which limits the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'their is' instead of 'there is', 'other think' instead of 'others think', and 'both views has' instead of 'both views have'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable and suggest a lack of control over more complex grammatical forms. Punctuation is generally functional, but the sentence construction often feels slightly disjointed.
