Student answer (Band 6.0)
While some believe that in today's world individuals do not need to visit cinema halls as movies can be seen either on mobile phones or tablets, however, others feel that watching films in the cinema might be more entertaining. Although watching movies at home on electronic appliances has some merits, In my opinion, watching films on the big screen may bring more enjoyment.
One main advantage of watching movie on phones or tablets can be convenient according to others. When people watch movies on their electronic gadgets, they can watch it anytime and anywhere. They do not need to restricted to the scheduled time of the movie, which is usually happen in the cinemas. Even they can pause it whenever they want, so they can enjoy their favorite movies on their own pace.
Watching films in the cinema can be more entertaining than watching on mobile or tablet screens. If people watch movies in the cinema hall, they can enjoy better it on the big screen. This is because, these organizations offer better quality visual and audio experience. So people can enjoy full movie constantly without any break and distraction.
In my opinion, even though watching movies on mobile or tablet screens might brings benefits, I think cinema can make experience more enjoyable. Instead of watching movies at home, people get chance to spend quality time with their loved ones and also give them break from their daily routines, which enhances their overall experience and make it more memorable.
In conclusion, the convenience of watching film on electronic appliances is understandable, I still believe, people may obtain better experience while watching movies in the cinema hall because of good sound and visual quality and can get break from their busy routine.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the convenience of mobile devices versus the immersive experience of the cinema. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the cinema experience could be further extended with more specific examples of why the 'audio-visual' quality is superior. The position is consistent throughout the essay, but the depth of analysis remains at a basic level, which prevents it from reaching the higher bands. Overall, the task is fulfilled, but the supporting arguments lack sufficient detail and sophistication.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central topic. There is a logical progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. For example, the transition 'In my opinion' is used twice in a similar way, and some linking words feel forced. Additionally, there are minor issues with referencing; for instance, the phrase 'which is usually happen in the cinemas' is grammatically awkward and disrupts the flow. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the internal cohesion within sentences could be improved to achieve a more natural and fluid reading experience.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There is some attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary such as 'electronic appliances', 'distraction', and 'memorable'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of imprecise word choice or collocation errors, such as 'enjoy better it' instead of 'enjoy it better' or 'at their own pace' (which is used correctly, but the surrounding context is repetitive). The vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main points, but it lacks the flexibility and precision required for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'which is usually happen' (should be 'which usually happens'), 'might brings benefits' (should be 'might bring benefits'), and the misuse of 'however' in the first sentence, which creates a run-on structure. Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in sentence construction that prevent the essay from demonstrating strong control over complex structures. The errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding the writer's argument.
