Student answer (Band 6.0)
Majority of people think that now we can see movies on our mobile phones or tablets there is no need to go to cinemas while others believe that to enjoy the full movie its better to see that in the movie theater. Personally, I choose to watch movies on my tablet. Let us discuss both the views in the upcoming paragraphs-
It is a fact that technology changed our lives in a long run. There are many streaming apps such as netflix, you-tube and apnatv etc. where we can watch any new movie. In this busy life, families do not have enough time to go to cinemas for movies. They choose to see movies at home with whole family. Personally, I love to watch film at home because I have very big joint family and children as well. Everybody has their own work and school schedule. Nobody have enough time to go outside. So, it is better to watch movie at home with family on TV using some streaming apps.
On the other hand, some people love to watch movies in the cinemas because it is a totally different experience
It is good quality time to spend with your family. Some individuals go to theatres with their family, friends or girlfriends. In this hectic lifestyle, people want to go out and feel fresh and free from their daily work schedule. For example, the survey conducted in 2019 to vote the cinemas and online apps to watch movies 85% of people chosed cinemas over apps. It is very essential to go do some outings with family which keeps the relations strong.
It is concluded that some people choose online apps, mobile phones to watch movies whereas others love to go to cinemas. But personally I think that it is totally a personal perference for people to go to cinemas as they can spend good time together but some want to stay home because of the hustle to going out.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument for watching movies at home relies heavily on personal anecdote rather than broader societal trends. The second body paragraph is quite brief and lacks depth in explaining why the cinema experience is superior beyond 'good quality time'. While the prompt is addressed, the ideas could be extended with more sophisticated reasoning to reach a higher band. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is occasionally disjointed. The transition between the introduction and the first body paragraph is abrupt. While some cohesive devices are used (e.g., 'On the other hand', 'For example'), they are sometimes used mechanically. The paragraphing is inconsistent; the second body paragraph is very short, and the third paragraph is fragmented. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall progression of ideas could be smoother to guide the reader more effectively through the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There is a reliance on basic terms like 'good', 'new', and 'work'. Some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'hustle to going out' or 'chosed' (a spelling error). While the student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'streaming apps' and 'hectic lifestyle', the range is limited. To improve, the student should focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Nobody have enough time'), missing articles ('Majority of people'), and punctuation errors. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are noticeable and occur throughout the text. The student should focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb tense consistency and pluralization to improve clarity and accuracy.
