Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat superficial. The arguments regarding the convenience of OTT platforms and the immersive experience of cinemas are present but lack depth and specific supporting examples. Furthermore, the response is under the 250-word minimum, which negatively impacts the overall task achievement. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and ensure you meet the minimum word count to fully develop your arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'in elaborate' or 'The another reason'. Some sentences are disjointed, and the logical flow between ideas is occasionally interrupted by grammatical errors. While there is a clear attempt to signal transitions between paragraphs, the overall progression of ideas is hindered by the lack of sophisticated linking words and occasional confusion in referencing. Improving the variety and accuracy of your cohesive devices will significantly enhance the readability of your work.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word-choice errors, such as 'for fully enjoy purpose' and 'sound of advancement'. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'OTT platforms' and '3D movies', the overall range is limited. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise collocations and a wider variety of vocabulary to express your ideas more naturally and effectively, avoiding repetitive structures.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'smart phones is' and 'there are various apps... are available'. Sentence structures are often simple or fragmented, and there is a lack of control over complex sentence forms. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of full stops within sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and reducing the frequency of errors in your writing.
