Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the convenience of mobile devices and the social atmosphere of cinemas, the arguments could be extended with more depth. For instance, the point about 'disturbance' is a good start, but could be expanded to discuss the impact of screen size or sound quality. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not fully synthesize the points raised. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a more thorough explanation of the 'why' behind your points, rather than just listing them.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion', which helps the reader follow your argument. However, some transitions are mechanical, and there are issues with referencing and sentence-level cohesion. For example, 'Many who really want to experience moment...' is grammatically awkward and disrupts the flow. Additionally, the use of pronouns and linking words could be more varied to improve the overall readability and logical flow between sentences.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward word choices and minor errors, such as 'loved once' instead of 'loved ones', 'foods and drinks are always add remarkable', and 'released films'. These errors occasionally impede the clarity of your message. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensuring that your word choices are contextually accurate. Avoid repetitive phrasing and try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to media and entertainment.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include missing articles (e.g., 'visit theater', 'at theatre'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'foods and drinks are always add'), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'some one is working in corporate'). While these errors do not completely prevent understanding, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, the correct use of articles, and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed accurately. Proofreading for basic errors like 'loved once' vs 'loved ones' would also be beneficial.
