Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is believed by most of the individuals that movies can be watched in homes instead of going to movie theaters, while other people say there is more entertainment in cinema. I will discuss both the perspectives in the upcoming paragraph; I am personally in favor of the later view.
There are several reasons why people believe that films can be seen on home screens. The predominant reason is that individuals find it more convenient.
To be more precise, due to a sedentary lifestyle, families do not get enough time to go on outings with each other. Movies might be the easiest way to get together in a family hall. As a repercussion, people can spend valuable time with the members of their family at home. Moreover, it will help to not only save time but also money. To elaborate, people do not need to pay for movies if they are watching them on a TV screen or in tabs, as there are a plethora of complimentary options, as well as not needing to travel to the cinema. As a consequence, they save both time and savings.
Moreover, watching movies in cinema provides high picture and volume quality.
To clarify it, people can watch the original picture in the cinema, as they get copyright if they use their own devices to watch the movie. For instance, in cinema the movie is seen in HD, but it is hard to get the same quality on personal screens. Apart from it, cinema is the best place for youngsters to enjoy their time together. They can see their favorite picture with their colleagues and make memories. Hence, it is the best entertainment for teenagers.
To conclude, although there are various benefits of watching movies at home, the high quality and best entertainment are achieved in the cinema only.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and clearly states a position in the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The first body paragraph is well-supported with reasons like convenience and cost-saving. The second paragraph, while relevant, contains some confusion; for instance, the mention of 'copyright' is not clearly explained in the context of cinema quality, and the argument about 'youngsters' is a bit generic. To reach a higher band, ensure that all points are fully extended with clear, logical reasoning rather than relying on slightly tangential points like copyright issues.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'The predominant reason', 'To be more precise', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the paragraphing is a bit unbalanced. The second body paragraph is quite short compared to the first. Improving the flow between sentences and ensuring a more balanced distribution of ideas across paragraphs would enhance the overall coherence of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task. You use some good phrases like 'sedentary lifestyle', 'plethora of complimentary options', and 'valuable time'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as using 'tabs' instead of 'tablets' and 'picture' when referring to a film. Additionally, the phrase 'save both time and savings' is redundant and slightly unnatural. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive or slightly informal terminology to demonstrate a more sophisticated control of language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical slips. For example, 'It is believed by most of the individuals' is passive and slightly awkward; 'most individuals' would be more natural. There are also minor errors in article usage and prepositional phrases, such as 'in cinema' instead of 'in the cinema'. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing the variety of complex structures while maintaining accuracy will help improve this score.
