Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the current era, Movies are the best source of entertainment for all people. People always want to spend their leisure time watching movies with family members. Some believe that Films should give a more enjoyable experience in the cinema compared to seeing it in electronic devices. There are different views for both scenarios, which will be discussed further below.
Firstly, seeing films on phones/tablets is less expensive compared to the Multiplex because if you purchase or buy any OTT platform(Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hotstar ..), then you can see it for free. Despite this, middle-class families are seeing it on their own devices. Secondly, you do not have to finish films in one go. You can play and pause according to your preferred times. For example, Working professionals can finish full movies in two or three go-throughs during their free time.
However, a multiplex cinema can give us a true experience by providing us with better sound quality and enhanced visualization. Some directors are producing and directing movies with the use of modern technological skills; for that, if we see this type of movie in a theatre, then we can enjoy all the technical features used during production. Moreover, Cinema is the only place where all family members can watch and spend time together.
To conclude this, both of them have their own benefits and drawbacks. In my view, People have to enjoy films in cinemas so that it can create job opportunities in the community and spend quality time with family members.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the point about job creation in the conclusion is introduced abruptly and is not linked to the previous arguments. While the prompt is addressed, the explanation of why cinema is superior could be more detailed, particularly regarding the 'technical features' mentioned. To reach a higher band, ensure that each main point is fully supported with specific examples or logical consequences rather than just stating the benefits.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'However', and 'Moreover' are used to guide the reader through the arguments. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally repetitive. The concluding paragraph is a bit brief and could have better synthesized the preceding arguments to provide a more cohesive summary. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear, and the paragraphing is appropriate for the task.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'OTT platform', 'multiplex', and 'enhanced visualization'. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'go-throughs' and 'electronic devices' (when 'mobile devices' or 'portable screens' would be more precise). The range is sufficient to convey meaning, but more sophisticated or varied vocabulary would be needed to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is consistently clear, there are frequent minor errors in grammar and punctuation. For example, there are issues with capitalization ('Movies', 'Films', 'Cinema' are capitalized mid-sentence) and article usage ('the Multiplex', 'a theatre'). Additionally, some phrasing is slightly awkward, such as 'if you purchase or buy any OTT platform'. Despite these errors, the grammatical control is sufficient to ensure that communication is not impeded.
