Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is reckoned by many that as individuals can view movies or other fictional shoes on mobile phones or laptops , cinemas are no more valuable .However others believe that watching films in cinemas have great experience . I essay will elucidate both prospecitives with followed conclusion.
To commence with the very first reason behind this trend of watching films in house instead of going cinema is comfort and time saving. To simplify it , nowadays many streaming apps such a Amazon prime video , netflix offers us comfort and saves our time because we can see the same movies with just one click in our own devices , you just need a subscription . Watching movie not only saves time, but also offers privacy , because you can enjoy your cup of coffee just setting on sofa and see your favourate movies. Moreover, because you just need to pay small amount for subscription , the overall expenses to watch film in cinema can be saved such as costly cinema tickets, even you can explore free streaming apps also for example Apna Tv, This is a Indian app where you an have a look on latest movies and shows without paying anything.
Despite this, these entertainments channels can not completely replace cinemas and there are number of individuals who still prefer to go cinemas. In cinema , screening are bigger, lighting is good and comfortable sheets provide more enjoyable experience and atmosphere. Also, If we go to cinema to watch movies , chances to see film charactor in real life increases because nowadays , film stars themselves visit in different cinemas to promote their movies so that more and more audience will attract .
To summarize , although watching movie on phones saves time and movie, but I think role of cinema can not be denied and individuals should try to watch movie in cinemas for more great experience.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The first body paragraph provides relevant points regarding convenience and cost, but the second paragraph relies on slightly weaker arguments, such as the claim that one is likely to see film stars in person at a cinema, which feels speculative rather than a standard benefit of the cinema experience. While the prompt is addressed, the depth of analysis could be improved by focusing more on the sensory or social aspects of cinema rather than promotional events. The position is consistent throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'Despite this', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'I essay will elucidate'. Referencing is generally clear, but the connection between sentences could be smoother to achieve a more natural progression of ideas. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two viewpoints and the introduction/conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several spelling errors ('prospecitives', 'favourate', 'charactor') and word choice issues, such as 'fictional shoes' instead of 'fictional shows' or 'films'. The range is somewhat limited, relying on basic descriptors. While the meaning is generally clear, the student struggles with collocations and accurate terminology. To reach a higher band, the student should focus on using more sophisticated vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'cinematic experience', 'immersive', or 'accessibility', and ensure correct spelling of common terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement ('watching films... have great experience'), article usage ('the role of cinema'), and awkward phrasing ('I essay will elucidate'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas and periods. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. The student needs to focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading to eliminate these recurring slips in grammar and punctuation.
