Student answer (Band 5.5)

This essay will discuss both views before presenting my opinion, nowadays, some people are prefer watching a movie on phones or tablets, but in another side some people recommended cinima to enjoy a movie.

To begin with, one important reason is that to watching a movie in phone or tablets is to convienient. people can watch a movie at home they just need internet facilities to download the movie. Another reason is watching a movie at home is cheaper people don't need to pay high cost. people don't need to pay ticket cost, or some of the cinema have parking charges as well so, it is usually cheaper. Currently, streaming service are providing a more films for instance, Netflix, Amazone prime are the most popular streaming platform to provide a films and it cost approximate 10 dollars for one month. As a result, watching a movie at home is excellent idea.

On the other hand, some people argue that watching a film in cinema is more enjoyable, there is significants reasons. People beilive that watching a movie in large screen fell more interesting. Another reasons is sound quality in cinema hall if we are watching a horror movie that sounds make movie more incrediable. Most people visit cinema hall because of seat and fewer distraction at home you cannot be fully constrate so people choose cinema hall to watch a movie. For instance, watching a 3d movie in cinema hall the experience would be really good because you can wear that 3d glasses so you can fell thae movie.

In conclusions, although there are valid arguments on both sides, i beilive that watching a films on phones or tablets are more outstanding because it is convinent and we don't need to pay high cost. But watching a movie in cinema is better because of sound quality and picture quality.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention convenience and cost for home viewing, and sound/screen quality for the cinema, these points are not fully extended with sophisticated reasoning. The conclusion is slightly contradictory, as you state that home viewing is 'more outstanding' but then immediately concede that the cinema is 'better,' which weakens the clarity of your overall position. To reach a higher band, ensure your arguments are consistently developed and your final stance remains clear and unified throughout the response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with,' 'Another reason,' and 'On the other hand.' However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. Additionally, there are issues with sentence-level cohesion, such as run-on sentences and comma splices (e.g., 'Another reason is watching a movie at home is cheaper people don't need to pay high cost'). Improving the flow between sentences by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring proper punctuation will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'streaming service,' '3d glasses,' and 'distraction.' However, there are frequent spelling errors such as 'cinima,' 'convienient,' 'beilive,' and 'incrediable.' Furthermore, some word choices are imprecise, such as 'provide a films' or 'fell the movie.' To improve, focus on mastering the spelling of common words and expanding your range of collocations to move beyond basic descriptive language. The current range is sufficient for communication but lacks the precision required for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as 'some people are prefer watching' and 'if we are watching a horror movie that sounds make movie more incrediable.' Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. Punctuation is also a concern, with several instances of comma splices where full stops or semicolons would be more appropriate. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and reducing the frequency of errors in verb tense and pluralization, which currently impede the overall fluency of your writing.
