Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people say that now we can see films on our phones or tablets there is no need to go cinema while some people think that cinema experience is good as compared to phones and tablets. In my opinion

phones and tablets are good sources of entertainment we can watch movies on them as well .

First of all, we do not need to buy tickets while standing in lines . We should not need to pay money for tickets. Moreover we can watch movies in free time we do not need to reschedule our time .

Secondly , In cinemas first we need to book a ticket then we need a time to got to cinema . But in my opinion it is worth it modern cinema comes with 3d projection and with vr glasses which give us feel like we are in movie. Furthermore the comfortable sofas in cinemas doubled up our experience and enjoyment . If we are with friends we can predict upcoming stories enjoy the thrill and coming trailers . We can make our weekend memorable in this way.

i never forgot a night on which i watched a spiderman new movies recently launched by marvels with my friends.First we have waited for 5 year for this part and we cannot wait for launch it on internet so we booked tickets online to experience this nw thrill and i have no words to explain the feelings.

So, according to my personal experience both are fun and enjoyable it varies from person to person what he think about it.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the argument regarding watching films on phones focuses primarily on the lack of ticket costs and scheduling, which is a limited perspective. The discussion on cinemas is more detailed, mentioning 3D technology and social aspects, but the overall structure lacks a clear, cohesive argument. The conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the points discussed. To improve, ensure each body paragraph has a clear topic sentence and more in-depth exploration of the implications of each viewpoint.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is sometimes disjointed. While some cohesive devices like 'First of all', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore' are used, they are occasionally applied mechanically or in a way that does not effectively link the ideas. The transition between the two viewpoints is abrupt, and the internal structure of the paragraphs could be improved to ensure a smoother flow of information. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the use of punctuation, particularly with commas, is inconsistent, which occasionally disrupts the reader's ability to follow the argument easily.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. The student relies on basic terms like 'good', 'fun', and 'enjoyable' repeatedly. There are some attempts at topic-specific vocabulary such as '3d projection', 'vr glasses', and 'thrill', which is positive. However, there are errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'reschedule our time' and 'doubled up our experience'. To reach a higher band, the student should aim to use a wider range of synonyms and more sophisticated collocations to express their ideas with greater nuance and accuracy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include missing articles ('go cinema'), incorrect verb forms ('need to got to cinema'), and run-on sentences or comma splices. Subject-verb agreement and tense consistency are also problematic, such as 'i never forgot a night on which i watched a spiderman new movies'. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and punctuation prevent the essay from achieving a higher score. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors would be highly beneficial.
