Student answer (Band 6.0)
The sophistications of technology has made it easy to have little theater in our hands, at one side it has been enjoyed by people, while others still bend toward cinemas considering them more entertaining than devices like mobile or tablets. This essay will shed some light on both perspectives and bring a conclusion.
To begin with digital devices, the first and foremost advantage is saving money. to make it more clear, i would like to cite an example as an average move ticket varies between $20 to $30. Where as, a subscription of digital platforms like Netflix allows you watch unlimited movies in same amount of money. Further more, this shift of movies not also saves money but also a big saving of movies, as many cinemas are even far than duration of movies. Many people may have cancelled their plans because of the distance but now they have found solutions of this problem, a person who is tired after work does have to travel for hours to watch a movie, it is in their pocket now.
Shifting towards other point of view, it is an undeniable fact that there is a huge entertainment gap when you watch something on a six inches screen and a huge screen. big screens makes people more involved and they feel that they are kind of in the scene. Secondly, Theaters offers a variety of food items which are not available and home which make their experience more enjoyable.
To conclude, After pondering a great deal of thoughts, i have come to conclusion that both theaters and digital devices have their own importance. It is more about personal preference either people prefer savings or more entertainment.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. The ideas are relevant, such as the cost-effectiveness of digital platforms versus the immersive experience of cinemas. However, some points are under-developed. For example, the argument regarding the 'saving of movies' is unclear and lacks logical progression. While the task is addressed, the development of ideas could be more sophisticated to reach a higher band. The position is consistent throughout, but the explanation of why one might prefer one over the other could be more deeply explored to fully satisfy the requirements of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'Further more', and 'To conclude', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Shifting towards other point of view'. Additionally, there are instances where referencing is slightly unclear, such as the phrase 'a big saving of movies', which does not clearly link back to the previous sentence. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the flow between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother to improve the overall coherence of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'sophistications' and 'undeniable fact', though some word choices are slightly inaccurate or unnatural, such as 'a big saving of movies' or 'bend toward cinemas'. Spelling is mostly accurate, but there are minor errors like 'move ticket' instead of 'movie ticket'. To improve, the student should focus on more precise collocations and ensure that the vocabulary used is appropriate for the context of a formal essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('The sophistications of technology has', 'Theaters offers') and missing articles or prepositions ('at one side', 'at home'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not generally impede communication. The student demonstrates an attempt at complex structures, but control is inconsistent. To reach a higher band, the student needs to improve accuracy in basic grammar, particularly with subject-verb agreement and article usage, while continuing to experiment with a wider variety of complex sentence forms.
