Student answer (Band 5.5)

Cinema are the best way that some one can spend some time with their loved ones and get entertained by watching films. Some says Films can be watched on phone so why go to cinema and some sayfilms should be enjoyed in cinema only. I agree with both the statements but on some basics.

Watching films on phone is very great for people who cant afford cinema ticket prize and also can watch films at any location and get entertained. Foe example- one of my friend go for hiking and decide to do camping there at night as he was in the mountains and at night there is nothing to do he watch a film in his phone with other friends who where with him on hiking while eating there food.

On other hand watching film in cinema will give next level experiance like watching film in 3D which will make ypu think that you are a part of the film. For example- people watch film named 'what is under the see' in 3D which was next level experiance for them which let them think that they are in the film like when the character in the film dive under the water some water for sprinkled on the watcher as wall which was so amazing for them.

In conclusion, watching film on phone or watching film in cinema both have there on benefit as some prefer to stay at home and watch film there and some love to watch in cinema.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, though the development is quite limited. While you mention the benefits of mobile viewing and the immersive experience of cinemas, the arguments lack depth and academic tone. The conclusion is somewhat repetitive and does not fully synthesize the points made. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph explores the 'why' behind the arguments more thoroughly, providing more sophisticated reasoning rather than just descriptive examples. Your position is clear, but it needs to be supported with more complex analysis to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite mechanical and limited (e.g., 'On other hand', 'For example'). There is a lack of variety in linking words, and some transitions between sentences feel abrupt. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the pronoun usage in the final paragraph. To improve, try to use a wider range of cohesive devices like 'consequently', 'furthermore', or 'in contrast' to create a smoother flow between your ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'very great', 'next level', and 'amazing', which are informal and repetitive. There are also several word-choice errors, such as 'ticket prize' instead of 'ticket price' and 'sprinkled' instead of 'sprayed'. To improve, focus on using more academic collocations and precise vocabulary related to the topic of media and entertainment, and avoid informal, conversational phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Cinema are', 'Some says'), missing articles, and incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'he watch a film'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and the use of hyphens. To reach a higher band, you need to demonstrate better control over basic grammar and increase the frequency of error-free complex sentences.
