Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is no doubt that film industry plays pivotal role in the society to entertain and keep it happy. Some opinions are going on in today's world that pictures should be watched on mobile phones or laptops as it becomes easier because of advanced technology, Others say that cinemas have unique experience to see movies there. Both views will be discussed along with my opinion in upcoming paragraphs.
On the one hand, people have lots of gadgets at home as all are up to date with the latest technology such as phones and tablets. Apart from it, because of the internet conectivity numerous online streaming apps have been launched which allows individuals to sit at home and enjoy every new episode by just one click. As a result, almost everyone like to watch films and web series at their place and they avoid to go outside for this activity because of busy schedule and some safety purposes such as road accident occurrence or late night crimes happening in the city.
On the other hand, people still love to go to cinemas as some of them are in the habit to watch every new movie on bigger screen. Since last three decades, theaters had been becoming number one choice for youngsters to spend evenings or weekends with their family or loved ones. Moreover, a few consider that to get real experience of sounds and picture quality they must go to cinemas. In my opinion, people should not stop to watch movies in theaters as this is the primary way for them to earning, which allows them to make more movies.
To conclude, although their own screens offer them a varity of movies and series, but still individuals have a preference to spend time in cinemas that is why theaters are fully booked on every Friday even though everything is available on their personal screens.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views and providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'safety purposes' as a reason to avoid cinemas is a bit tangential and not fully explored. The opinion provided in the third paragraph—that people should go to cinemas because it is the 'primary way for them to earning'—is unclear and lacks logical connection to the topic of film enjoyment. To reach a higher band, ensure that your arguments are more directly relevant to the core question of the viewing experience and provide more detailed support for your personal stance.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'On the other hand,' and 'To conclude' to structure the response. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'Apart from it' and 'Since last three decades.' Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the conclusion where the link between the popularity of cinemas and the availability of personal screens could be more smoothly articulated. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate, and the essay remains easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'pivotal role,' 'advanced technology,' and 'online streaming.' There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'internet conectivity' (spelling error), 'avoid to go' (should be 'avoid going'), and 'varity' (spelling error). While you attempt to use some less common vocabulary, the precision is sometimes lacking, and the phrasing can be slightly unnatural. To improve, focus on using collocations more accurately and proofreading for common spelling mistakes.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'film industry plays pivotal role' (missing articles), 'theaters had been becoming' (incorrect tense usage), and 'people should not stop to watch' (should be 'stop watching'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not generally impede communication. To achieve a higher band, you should aim for more error-free sentences and pay closer attention to article usage and verb patterns, as these are recurring issues in your writing.
