Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people say that now we can see films on our phones or tablets there is no need to go to the cinema. Others say that to be fully enjoyed, films need to be seen in a cinema.
Cinema are enjoyed by people of various age groups and children and adults have their own cinemas for kids they have their anime version and for adults they have the cinemas which they enjoy watching with their families during weekend.
The era which we are in currently is the mobile era now we have everything in our mobile phone for example Netflix,Amazon prime etc still people go to cinema theater with their families and watch movies. People go to cinemas because they feel happy when they are in theatre rather then watching the movie in cinemas.
As we all know the generation gap between the people these days is also a main reason to watch movies in theatre then watching on phones. Some people like to watch the movies in big screens then watching in smaller screens.
To conclude with I think its important for people to enjoy their own needs which makes them happy if they prefer to watch movies in phone they can watch it on their phones if they think its better to watch in cinemas they can watch it in cinemas as they wish since the opinions matter.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay addresses both sides of the argument, the discussion is superficial and lacks depth. The arguments regarding 'generation gaps' and 'happiness' are vague and not well-supported with specific examples or logical reasoning. The position is stated in the conclusion, but it lacks the necessary development throughout the body paragraphs to be considered a fully extended response. To improve, you must expand on your points with concrete examples and ensure you meet the minimum length requirement to allow for a more thorough exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression between ideas is weak. Transitions are often missing or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'people' and 'cinemas'. The connection between the 'mobile era' and the 'generation gap' is not clearly explained, making the argument feel disjointed. Cohesive devices are used in a very basic and mechanical way. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that directly relates to the prompt.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. Words like 'people', 'watch', 'movies', and 'cinemas' are used excessively throughout the text. There is little attempt to use less common or more precise vocabulary to convey complex ideas. Phrases like 'anime version' are imprecise and do not contribute to a formal academic tone. To improve, you should aim to use synonyms and more sophisticated collocations. For example, instead of repeating 'watch movies', you could use 'view cinematic productions' or 'experience films on the big screen'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Cinema are enjoyed'), missing articles, and awkward sentence structures (e.g., 'rather then watching the movie in cinemas'). The range of sentence structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple or poorly connected compound sentences. There is a lack of complex grammatical structures, which is necessary for higher band scores. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, punctuation, and the correct use of articles and prepositions before attempting more complex structures.
