Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 87 words. Because the essay is incomplete and stops abruptly after the introduction, it fails to address the prompt's requirement to discuss both views and provide an opinion. The ideas are merely introduced rather than developed or supported with examples. Consequently, the response is severely underdeveloped, which prevents it from meeting the criteria for a higher band score. To improve, you must ensure you write at least 250 words and provide full paragraphs for each side of the argument, followed by a clear conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay shows an attempt at logical organization by using a standard introduction structure. However, because the response is incomplete, there is no progression of ideas. Cohesive devices like 'To commence with' are used, but the text ends immediately after this phrase, meaning there is no actual body paragraph to evaluate. The paragraphing is also problematic, as the text is fragmented. To improve, focus on developing each point in a separate paragraph and using a wider variety of linking words to connect your arguments logically.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and contains some inaccuracies, such as 'get rid from stress' (should be 'get rid of stress') and 'entertainment source' (should be 'source of entertainment'). The phrase 'Few masses' is also an unnatural collocation. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the basic meaning of the introduction, it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You should aim to use more academic collocations and precise terminology related to the topic of cinema and technology.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are several grammatical errors in the short text provided. For example, 'watching movies give' should be 'watching movies gives' (subject-verb agreement), and 'movies need to see in cinema' should be 'movies need to be seen in a cinema' (passive voice). The sentence structure is relatively simple, and there are issues with punctuation and spacing. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and the correct use of passive voice, which is essential when discussing general opinions in IELTS essays.
