Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the technology era, everyone have a good source of internet and they are browsing movies at any time on their tablets or phones, people think that is the better option rather to go to cinema but some people think, in the cinema they can enjoy more with the crowd. In this essay, I will discuss both views in the upcoming paragraphs.
Firstly, in the modern time people are busy in their life and they do not have a much time to visit the cinema halls and they prefer to browse online movies they think it can easy as well as cheaper way.
Secondly, they can watch any movie any time there is no time restrictions, For example if they have to do some urgent work they can start movie later or while they are watching movies they can easily pause and play again. Moreover, while they are travelling on the public transport they can resume it and it is a time saver for other stuff.
On the other side, some people wants spend their holiday to explore the shopping malls and cinema halls, they think to visit the cinema hall, they get good experience like clarity of the films as well as good sound bars and they also think if they support to the cinema it will help to producer, actors and musician and they can earn more money rather than online views.
In conclusion, both methods are good for watching cinema and browsing internet, it all depend upon people's financial condition and limited time. Because some people are introvert and they prefer to watch alone beside the crowded places and some have time mismatch.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views regarding watching films at home versus in a cinema. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention convenience and cost for home viewing, and quality and social support for cinemas, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. Furthermore, your own opinion is not clearly stated or consistently maintained throughout the essay; it is only briefly alluded to in the conclusion. To improve, ensure you clearly state your position in the introduction and provide more detailed, well-supported arguments for each perspective to meet the requirements for a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'Moreover', and 'On the other side'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the logical progression within paragraphs is occasionally disrupted by grammatical issues. For instance, the transition between the benefits of home viewing and the conclusion is abrupt. To improve, focus on using a wider range of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects logically to the overall argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. You rely on simple phrases like 'good source', 'easy', and 'good experience'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'watching cinema' (instead of 'watching films') and 'time mismatch'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more precise and varied vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'cinematic experience', 'flexibility', 'technological advancements', or 'immersive environment'. Expanding your range of collocations will significantly enhance the quality of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'everyone have', 'people wants'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'they do not have a much time'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma splices and run-on sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and sentence boundaries. Practicing the use of complex structures like relative clauses or conditional sentences will also help you demonstrate a wider grammatical range.
