Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays , people have become tech-savvy and neophile . Every individual prefer technological devices such as phones and tablets
for their entertainment. They watch movies, listen music and also acquire more information about everything through their appropriate gadgets.
Some people are prefer phones and tablets to watch movies rather than going to cinema , While others believe that it does not provide much vibe
and fully entertainment. This essay will discuss both points of views before
presenting my opinion.
As far as watching movies in smart gadgets are concerned , there are several adavantages of it. People can watch movies at any time and any
place without disturbing their daily routine. Many websites in technological devices provide cost free films which saves money. There are few drawbacks to seeing movies in tablets and mobiles we can not find comforatble place for watching continuos hours , while watching it at home creates disturbance from our family members and also we do not get huge amount of screens like a theatre.
On the other hand , many individuals go in theatre to get fully entertainment for watching movies and they really enjoyed it. Because of theatres have a larger screens and comfortable seating arrangements. And also people do not get disturb by their family member or other members while watching it. It is always beneficial for people to find entertainment. People find difficulties getting tickets sometimes at that being disappointed. Many films has greater amount
charge which can not affrod evey people so it is disadvantageous for them.
In conclusion, people who really want to take break from their life and have a good budget they should go in theatre for watching movies. But a persons who have less time they use their mobile phones and tablets to get entertainment for films because they watch films on their time and comfortness. In my opinion , people should prefer cinemas in appropriate months when they are free with the help of these they feel freshed and get some quality with their family members.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat inconsistent. While the advantages of mobile viewing are mentioned, the discussion regarding the drawbacks of cinema (e.g., ticket prices and availability) is slightly repetitive and lacks depth. The response covers all parts of the prompt, but the arguments could be more effectively supported with more specific examples or logical elaboration to reach a higher band. The position is clear throughout, though the transition between ideas could be smoother.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the other hand' and 'In conclusion', but some transitions feel mechanical or slightly forced. There are instances where the flow between sentences is disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as the shift between the benefits and drawbacks of cinema in the third paragraph. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall progression of ideas would benefit from more sophisticated linking words to connect the arguments more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to express ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary like 'tech-savvy' and 'neophile', though 'neophile' is used slightly out of context here. Some word choices are imprecise, such as 'huge amount of screens' instead of 'large screen' or 'comfortness' instead of 'comfort'. Spelling errors, such as 'adavantages', 'comforatble', and 'affrod', occur frequently. While these do not impede communication, they limit the score in this criterion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('Many films has', 'every individual prefer') and article usage ('go in theatre'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. More attention to proofreading for subject-verb agreement and pluralisation is necessary.
