Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some individuals say that, nowadays we can easily watch movies on our mobile phones, laptops or tablets and there is no need to visit the cinema. Whereas, others believes that, by watching movies in cinema a person can enjoy fully. This essay will discuss the both of views in the upcoming paragraphs.
First of all, for the past few years, we have noticed a huge increase in the technology. Due to that, these days it is so easier to get access to any kind of movies or websites. We have numerous channels available for viewing and downloading things. Secondly, it is very convenient to watch at home. We can watch any movie at anytime without going anywhere. For example, on a mobile, a person can watch, while traveling and eating. Moreover, we can download our favourite movies and keep them stored in our phones or tables to re-watch them.
However, there are several benefits of watching a movie in the cinema. Firstly, watching a movie at a big screen is quite an experience. Whereas, some movie tickets are very expensive and you need to book ahead of time. On the second hand, it is a great opportunity to spend time with our beloved ones. We can consider it as an opportunity to explore new experiences.
Overall, in my opinion, these both views have strong benefits. For example, watching movies at home is comparable and going to the cinema for a movie is like a different kind of entertainment. I personally like watching movies with my family at home because it’s more enjoyable.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the convenience of home viewing and the social aspect of cinemas, the arguments lack depth and specific supporting examples. For instance, the point about cinema tickets being expensive is mentioned but not fully integrated into the argument regarding why people might prefer home viewing. To reach a higher band, ensure that each main point is supported by a more detailed explanation or a concrete example that directly relates to the prompt's core tension between convenience and the immersive experience of the cinema.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'First of all', 'Secondly', 'However', and 'Overall' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or misused, such as 'On the second hand', which is an incorrect idiom (it should be 'On the other hand'). Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect ideas more fluidly rather than relying on simple list-like structures.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some relevant topic-specific terms like 'downloading', 'convenient', and 'entertainment'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of awkward phrasing or word choice, such as 'huge increase in the technology' (which should be 'technological advancements') and 'comparable' (which does not fit the context of comparing home and cinema experiences). To improve, try to incorporate more precise collocations and less common lexical items to demonstrate a higher level of control over the language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'others believes that' (subject-verb agreement error), 'it is so easier' (incorrect comparative form), and 'these both views' (incorrect determiner usage). While these errors do not prevent communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To achieve a higher band, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of comparatives, and aim to increase the frequency of error-free complex sentences by practicing subordinate clauses.
