Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this contemporary era of rapid globalization and technological advancement, many people have distinct views on this. Although the group of people believe that there is no need to commute to cinema hall to watch a film because of having advanced technology on phones and tablets, another group of people saying that cinema is necessary to fully enjoy a movie. I strongly believe on later view. Therefore, both the views will be discussed in the following paragraphs with a suitable conclusion.
Initiating with former view, the first and foremost reason to support this view is that phones and tablets not only give accessibility but also less expensive. To explain it further, a person can watch film at their desired place with a peaceful environment. In addition, watching movies on phones give freedom to stop and play according to person's mood. Also this trend is less expensive rather than watching film at cinema hall. Therefore, enjoying film on phone gives these advantages.
On the other hand, despite having a plenty of merits of watching movies on tablet, some people say that to be fully enjoyed, films need to be seen in a cinema. The primary reason is that quality of movie in a theater. To make it clear, a person can enjoy movie with high quality of visuals and sound with joyful environment in a cinema. To illustrate, one survey conducted by The Times Of India in 2022 showed that watching film in a cinema hall gives you more satisfaction than to watch on phones.
In conclusion, however watching film on phones gives you accessibility and financial freedom, accurate and high quality of visuals and sound give you more satisfaction.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention accessibility and cost for home viewing, and quality for cinema viewing, these points could be expanded with more depth or specific examples. The conclusion is quite brief and merely restates the points rather than synthesizing them effectively. To reach a higher band, ensure that each body paragraph provides a more thorough exploration of the arguments presented, moving beyond simple statements to more nuanced analysis.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'In addition', 'On the other hand', and 'To illustrate', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally repetitive. For instance, the opening of the second paragraph, 'Initiating with former view', is slightly unnatural. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the flow and cohesion of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'contemporary era', 'globalization', and 'technological advancement'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'I strongly believe on later view' (should be 'in the latter view') and 'watching movies on phones give freedom' (should be 'gives'). There is also some repetition of basic words like 'view' and 'film'. To improve, try to incorporate more precise synonyms and ensure that your collocations are natural and grammatically correct.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('to cinema hall' instead of 'to the cinema'), subject-verb agreement ('another group of people saying' instead of 'say'), and preposition usage. Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'watching movies on phones give freedom to stop and play according to person's mood'. Increasing the variety of complex structures while focusing on accuracy in basic grammar would significantly improve your score.
