Student answer (Band 6.0)
Watching movies on mobiles or in the cinema is one of the debatable issue in today's world. Certain individuals reckon that seeing films on tablets and phones are better whereas other contradict and state cinema offers unexceptional enjoyment of the movie. This essay will explicate both view along with my own perception.
to embark on, the advocates of former view express their support with valid grounds. The leading one is it is very cheap to watch movies online on phones and laptops as people do not have to pay for cinema tickets, transportation and expensive snacks. Streaming platforms offers monthly or yearly subscription to access all kind movies which is very less as compare to single movie tickets. Additionally, it is also convenience and flexible to stream movie at home. Nowadays, in busy schedule, people can easily watch movie anywhere and any time without planning it on their electronic device.
Nevertheless, the adherent of later view has opposite outlook. According to them, there will be less distraction in cinema as compare to house. Individual can feel distracted by family member, chatting and household chores. Moreover, cinema offers better video quality and sound effect which can entertain people more. Specially in case of animated movies, cinema's feature make it more interesting.
to recapitulate, there are cogent arguments on both sides of debate but according to my perspective former view has more persuasive evidence than later view. picture quality and sounds effect plays important role in movies which only cinemas can offer.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response successfully addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views on where to watch films and providing a clear personal opinion. The student presents relevant ideas, such as financial savings and convenience for home viewing, contrasted with fewer distractions and superior audio-visual quality at the cinema. However, some ideas lack full extension and development, particularly the conclusion where the writer surprisingly shifts stance to favour the cinema despite earlier claiming the former view had more persuasive evidence. This slight contradiction impacts the clarity of the position, placing the performance securely at Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure separating the introduction, the two body paragraphs discussing opposing views, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are employed, such as "to embark on", "Additionally", and "Nevertheless", although some transitions are slightly mechanical or unidiomatic. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, but referencing and logical progression are occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing. For example, the transition into the final conclusion contains minor abruptness. Overall, the organizational structure meets the criteria for Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as "explicate", "adherent", and "cogent arguments". However, there are numerous word choice and grammatical form errors, such as "debatable issue" instead of issues, "streaming platforms offers" instead of offer, and "convenience" instead of convenient. Spelling and word formation slips are also evident, such as "sounds effect" instead of sound effects. These errors do not impede overall communication, but they restrict the lexical score to a Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordinate clauses and conditional structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ("seeing films... are better" instead of is, "Streaming platforms offers"), missing plural markers ("all kind movies"), and punctuation errors such as lowercase beginnings of sentences ("to embark on", "to recapitulate", "picture quality"). While communication is rarely impeded, the density of errors prevents the response from reaching higher bands, warranting a Band 5.5.
