Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some set of persons believe while we can watch movies on our phones and tablets there's no more need to go to cinema while others are of the opinion that cinema is the best.
Some who believed that watching movies on their phones and tablets are better than going to cinema maybe saying so due to the level of comfort it accords to them as they won't have to worry about transport fare or traffic or pay the ticket fee which is less expensive and less stressful for them.
Those who are of the opinion that watching movie at a cinema is more enjoyable than with your phone speaks so much volume for them as they get to bond with their loved ones and relishes the moment spent together and they won't be bothered about power failure or low battery as watching movie on our phones or tablet do drain the battery.
Moverover, when one watches a movie on his or her phone or tablet, they tend to sleepoff midway and when they wake up they continue from where they stopped at and that gives them an edge over those who enjoyed watching films at cinema and you have the luxury of pausing your movie and continue it when you like.
While those who enjoyed watching films at cinema dont have such luxury and you maybe distracted due to the noise that may arose in the course of watching the movie.
Watching movie with your phones and tablet will be economically beneficial if you're not with funds or you dont have uour partner or family around while watching a movie at the cinema creates time for family bonding and lasting memories.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—watching films on phones or tablets versus going to the cinema—and provides the writer's own perspective across the essay. Ideas are presented regarding convenience, cost, social bonding, and interruptions. However, some arguments tend to over-generalise or remain slightly under-developed, particularly in the transitions between points. For instance, the discussion on pausing and sleepiness is a bit repetitive. The position is clear throughout, but the depth of extension places this response comfortably at Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with logical sequencing of ideas between paragraphs. However, paragraphing is poorly managed, as the entire body of the essay is compressed into overly long, run-on sentences and a lack of clear paragraph breaks between differing points. Cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or faulty, such as 'Moverover' and the repetitive use of 'while' and 'and'. Referencing can also be unclear, as seen in pronoun shifts (e.g., switching between 'one', 'they', and 'you'). These issues align with the Band 5.0 descriptors.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating ideas related to comfort, cost, and social interaction. There are attempts at less common vocabulary such as 'economically beneficial' and 'family bonding'. However, there are noticeable word choice and collocation errors, such as 'Some set of persons', 'speaks so much volume for them', and 'sleepoff'. Spelling errors like 'Moverover' also occur. These errors do not seriously impede communication, supporting a Band 5.5 score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though many sentences are overly long and lack appropriate punctuation, resulting in run-on structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('watching movie... do drain'), tense inconsistencies, and missing articles. While the meaning is generally decipherable, the frequency of errors causes some difficulty for the reader and prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. This performance is reflective of Band 5.0.
