Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, some individuals preffered to watch movies by their own gadgets rather than go to cinema. while, some pleople believe that watching movies in a cinema is a different kind of enjoyment. Both sides have their logic to support their opinion which i will discuss in this dissertation before reaching at any conclusion.

AS far as this matter is concerned, i would like to state that some people love to spend their time alone by watching movies on their own mobile or tablets instead go to cinema. Another noteworthy point which comes to my mind is that few personalities find this burden to follow the fixed schdule to watch movie in the cinema, to get ready before travelling, as they prefer to save time and extra efforts to go cinema for movie. For example: a person who prefer to watch movies by their own tablets they don't need to schdule their time according to the movie time, they can watch their movie acoording to their free time.

However, the first and foremost nation which strike my mind is that some personalities find enjoyment to watch movies in a cinema with their friends or family members together because watching movie ia a cineama on a big screen is totally different experience.Apart from this, the sound quality at the cinema makes the movie more enjoyble and exciting.

After cogitating on a great deal of thoughts and discussion, the conclusion to be drawn here is that both sides have their own significant value.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—watching films on gadgets versus going to the cinema—and outlines a personal position in the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive, with generalisations such as saving time and avoiding schedules. Furthermore, the response contains a critical drawback as highlighted in the length check: it falls one word short of the 250-word minimum requirement at 249 words. This negative constraint directly impacts task completion. Consequently, the task achievement is restricted to a band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay displays some overall organization with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion, but there is no clear overall logical progression between paragraphs. Paragraphing is faulty, as the second paragraph abruptly switches topics midway or groups disparate ideas without smooth transitions. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, such as 'AS far as this matter is concerned' and 'However, the first and foremost nation', where 'nation' is clearly misused for 'notion'. Referencing and linking are occasionally mechanical or unclear, leading to a band score of 5.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with noticeable errors that impede precision and occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Examples include spelling errors like 'preffered' for preferred, misuse of words such as 'dissertation' instead of essay or introduction, and 'nation' instead of notion. While the writer attempts less common vocabulary like 'cogitating', the inappropriate collocations and inaccurate word choices demonstrate a limited and minimally adequate range, fitting the band 5.0 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty. There are multiple grammatical errors and punctuation lapses, such as lower-case starting letters ('i' instead of 'I', 'AS far'), comma splices, and faulty verb forms like 'instead go to cinema' instead of 'instead of going to the cinema'. Subject-verb agreement issues also appear, such as 'a person who prefer'. Frequent errors in grammar and sentence structure place this text firmly at band 5.0.
