Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is commonly argued by many individuals that now we can watch movies on our digital devices there is no need to go to the cinema but others say that to be fully enjoyed, films need to be seen in a cinema. I believe that both statement have their own benefits which I am going to discuss in upcoming paragraphs.
On the one hand, there are numerous benefits of watching movies on our phones instead of going to cinema. The first and foremost benefit is pocket friendly. watching films on phones cost way to less as compared to cinema tickets which also help to reduce some financial stress. Moreover, it is easy and accessible. Watching movies on tablets and phones are to easy as you can start to watch a film anywhere at any time. For instance, a person watching a movie on his phone during work break or laying on bed.
On the other hand, I cannot denied that to be fully enjoyed, films need to be seen in a cinema. The prodominant benefit is higher films quality. Films in the cinemas have higher quality as compared to mobile, which give a different experience to the individuals. Furthermore, cinemas have larger screen that attract more people. Not only this but also watching movies in cinemas have less distraction so individuals can give more focuas to see film.
To conclude, even though watching movies and films on digital devices have some benefits such as pocket friendly and easy, still I opine that to get proper enjoyment, films need to be seen in a cinema.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—watching films on digital devices versus going to the cinema—and clearly states your own opinion in the introduction and conclusion. You present relevant ideas, such as financial savings and accessibility for mobile viewing, alongside film quality and reduced distractions for the cinema experience. However, these ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed, relying on brief explanations and simple examples like "a person watching a movie on his phone during work break." To reach a higher band, these points would benefit from further extension and deeper elaboration. Nevertheless, a clear position is maintained throughout, satisfying the core requirements of a Band 6.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs representing opposing views, and a concise conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas. Cohesive devices are employed to structure the text, such as "On the one hand," "On the other hand," and "Furthermore." However, some cohesive elements and referencing are a bit mechanical or faulty. For instance, the phrase "both statement have their own benefits which I am going to discuss in upcoming paragraphs" is a rigid formulaic transition, and linking errors occur elsewhere. Progression is generally logical, but paragraph internal cohesion could be smoother. This places the response comfortably at Band 6.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your main arguments regarding cost, accessibility, and film quality. You attempt some less common vocabulary, such as "pocket friendly," "accessible," and "prodominant" (predominant), but there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, form, and collocation. For example, "watching films on phones cost way to less" contains spelling and grammatical errors ("too little"), and "give more focuas to see film" lacks natural phrasing. Vocabulary is sometimes repetitive, such as the frequent reuse of "movies," "films," and "cinema." While communication is never impeded, these lexical limitations cap the score at Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, such as concessive clauses starting with "even though" and relative clauses. However, there are frequent grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the text that affect readability. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ("both statement have"), incorrect word forms ("Watching movies on tablets and phones are to easy"), missing prepositions, and spelling errors like "focuas." Although simple sentences are generally successful and meaning remains clear, the higher density of errors in complex structures prevents the response from achieving a Band 6.
