Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many individuals argue that it is better to watch the movies on our phones and tablets rather than going to cinema but other people think that we can enjoy more when go to cinema to watch a movie. In this essay i will discuss both views before arriving to the conclussion.
To begin with, there are many reasons thats why should not go the cinema. Firstly, in this contemrary the use of technology is increasing day by day and we can easily serach each and everything within mintues so we can easily see the vast range of colloection of movies in our mobile phone or we can even watch the newly realised movies with in a single click. To justify it, as when can watch the movie at the comfort of our house so why we need to go to cinema to watch a movie. In addition to it, we do not need to purchase the expensive ticket or extra cost on transportation. To elaborate it, as we know very well that people spend a lot of money to watch single movie but at home we can easily watch a movie without any expenses .
Moreover, people should also go the cinema because when can spend some quality time with our friends. To illustrate it, as everyone now has hectic schedule they have time for their friends specially on weekdays but when they make the plan to watch the movie then they can easily spend time with their friends.
In my opinion , people should watch the movies on their mobile phones because in this way they can save their money or easily save their which they spend outside.
To conclude , It is true that people can meet their friends when they make the plan to watch the movie in cinema but by watching movie we can save our money and time.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on whether cinemas are still needed and providing an opinion in favor of watching films on mobile devices. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive, particularly regarding financial savings and convenience. For instance, the points about saving money are reiterated in the body paragraph, the personal opinion, and the conclusion without introducing fresh dimensions or deep elaboration. Furthermore, the position is stated and maintained, but the arguments rely on simple generalisations rather than fully extended reasoning. This performance corresponds to the Band 6 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different arguments. However, cohesion is often faulty or mechanical, relying on repetitive transitional phrases such as 'To begin with,' 'To justify it,' and 'To illustrate it,' which feel formulaic rather than natural. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in phrases like 'as when can watch the movie,' which disrupts the logical flow. Overall progression is somewhat hindered by these mechanical links and the circular nature of the arguments, placing it squarely at Band 5.5, which rounds to 5.5.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'contemrary' (contemporary), 'colloection' (collection), and 'realised' (released). However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'serach' instead of 'search' and 'mintues' instead of 'minutes'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to detract from the overall quality. The lexical control is limited, and phrasing tends to be repetitive, which is characteristic of the Band 5 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as missing articles ('going to cinema'), incorrect prepositions ('with in a single click'), and tense/subject-verb agreement issues ('as when can watch'). Punctuation errors are also present, including unnecessary spaces before commas, as seen in 'In my opinion ,'. While the meaning is generally retrievable despite the frequent errors, the high density of inaccurate complex structures prevents the score from reaching a higher band, aligning best with Band 5.0.
