Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your response addresses the prompt by discussing both views on watching films and giving a personal opinion, but the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, your point about saving travel expenses on mobile phones is stated rather than fully extended with deeper elaboration. Additionally, the response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, stopping at 224 words. To reach a higher level, you need to ensure you write at least the minimum required length and fully develop each main idea with relevant explanations and examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, dividing the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion appropriately. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand' and 'Conversely' to signal different viewpoints. However, referencing and progression are sometimes faulty, as seen in the abrupt conclusion which trails off incomplete ('more convinv'). To achieve a higher score, ensure your cohesive devices are managed more smoothly and that your final sentences are fully completed to maintain a clear logical progression throughout.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words like 'proponents' and 'extroverts'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors, such as 'convinience', 'webseries', and 'electronuc', along with awkward phrasing like 'less number of efforts'. These errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. To improve, you should focus on accurate spelling, natural collocations, and widening your control over less common lexical items to express your ideas with greater precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Your writing shows a limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside some attempts at complex forms that are often faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing articles ('the one who wish', 'at lower expense'), subject-verb agreement issues ('claims it to be'), and preposition usage. These frequent mistakes can cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve, aim to increase your control over complex sentence patterns and carefully proofread your work to eliminate basic errors in articles, plurals, and verb forms.
