Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent decades, technological advancements have transformed the way people entertain themselves by watching films in their smartphones. While some individuals believe that enjoyment can be possible only by watching movies in theatre, others argue that they can watch any drama series using tablets or mobile phones. This essay will discuss both views before explaining why I believe that going in cinemas to see films for refreshment and relaxation with freinds or relatives make a huge impact on our overall well-being.
On the one hand, the introduction of online streaming platforms allow people to watch latest web sereis or dramas over the phone. For instance, Netflix and Amazon Prime Videos broadcasting bollywood and hollywood films, so that people can watch it after purchasing membership of it. Additionally, people are hardworking and they did not get enough time to visit cinema. As a result, people using these applications during their leisure time, which saves time of travelling outside and it is convenient too. Thus, some believe that there is no need to visit multiplex theatre and waste money on expensive tickets.
On the other hand, films should be watch in cinema because people get an opportunity of gathering. They can get a reason to meet up with friends and relatives. People have hectic schedule due to work and studies, therefore, they hardly get quality of time to spend with each other. Moreover, people get refreshment, rejuvenate themselves, and can get pleasure with eachother. They not only watching movies but also eating out in the restaurant and try different cusine. This way they can explore the world and fully enjoy the whole day outside in fresh air. For example, every weekend the shopping malls and cineplex are fully booked as people spending quality time with their loved ones and get relaxation from their buy routine. Consequently, individulas can get full entertainment as they are accompanied by other groups.
In conclusion, although films can be seen on phones or tablets which saves time and money, I believe that in-person visit to cinema allow interaction with other people which improves overall well-being.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—the convenience of watching films on mobile devices versus the social and experiential benefits of cinemas—and presents a clear personal position in the introduction and conclusion. Ideas are relevant, fulfilling the requirements for the mid-band level. However, some aspects show uneven development, typical of this band level. For instance, the first body paragraph touches upon streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime, but the explanation regarding how they save time is somewhat generalised rather than fully extended. To reach a higher band, all ideas would need deeper elaboration with more specific, nuanced examples rather than relying on broader generalisations about busyness and leisure time.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The essay demonstrates a clear overall progression and logical organisation throughout, successfully guiding the reader from the introduction through the two contrasting viewpoints to a definitive conclusion. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, with each body paragraph dedicated to a distinct perspective. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', 'Additionally', and 'In conclusion' are employed to structure the argument, although referencing and linking are occasionally slightly mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent reliance on 'people' as a subject. To progress further, referencing could be made more sophisticated to connect ideas with greater subtlety and seamless flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, successfully communicating the writer's ideas while attempting less common lexical items such as 'technological advancements', 'online streaming platforms', and 'rejuvenate'. However, there are noticeable lexical resource limitations and inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and spelling throughout the text. Examples include 'in their smartphones' instead of 'on their smartphones', 'web sereis' instead of 'web series', 'bollywood' with lowercase letters, and 'buy routine' instead of 'busy routine'. These errors indicate an adequate range with some flexibility, but the presence of persistent word-choice and spelling slips prevents the response from achieving a higher rating.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt to use varied structures such as relative clauses and conditional-like frames. There are, however, several grammatical errors across verb forms, tense consistency, and singular/plural agreement. Instances such as 'platforms allow' with plural agreement handled well, but contrasted by errors like 'films should be watch' instead of 'watched', 'they did not get' instead of 'do not get', and 'individulas' spelling which falls under lexical, while sentence structure slips include missing prepositions or awkward verb complements like 'try different cusine'. These errors rarely impede communication, reflecting the profile of a response where simple sentences are generally controlled while attempts at complex structures introduce recurring mistakes.
