Student answer (Band 5.5)

Films are most entertaining content . A few individual say that watching films on a mobile phone is good idea rather than cinema but others believe that cinema is the best way to see the films and that we can fully enjoy them in the cinema. i will discuss both of views in the upcoming paragraphs with my opinions.

In the commence, watch the films on mobile phones or tablets are best way. there are so many reason behind this. first of all, if people watch movies at home on tablets as they can save the money as some people do not afford the cinema tickets. Moreover, individuals save time, due to hectic schedules, some people have not sufficient time to go outside they sit at home and watch movies.

On the other hand, people can be entertained in the cinema. Cinema has a big screen they can full enjoy on big screen. they can spend quality time with his family and friend. they explore outside environment, As they can relax

In conclusion, in my perspective, cinema is the best way to enjoy more movies with his friends. Nowadays, everyone is busy at work; they can go outside with their friends and feel relaxed and entertained rather than watching movies on tablets.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both views on cinema versus mobile viewing and provides a personal opinion, but it remains partially developed and does not meet the minimum word count of 250 words, falling short at 212 words. While the writer covers the main ideas of financial savings, convenience, and the social aspects of cinema, these points are limited in scope and under-developed. For instance, the reasons why people cannot afford cinema tickets or lack sufficient time are stated superficially without extension or specific examples. The position is expressed, but the brevity of the response prevents a fully rounded exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement and attempts to organise ideas into logical paragraphs, including an introduction, body paragraphs for each view, and a conclusion. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the abrupt transitions and vague pronoun usage in phrases like 'there are so many reason behind this' and 'they can full enjoy on big screen.' Paragraphing is used, but the progression of ideas lacks smooth connectivity, resulting in a somewhat disjointed flow between sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey basic points about watching movies. There are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and collocation, such as 'Films are most entertaining content' instead of 'contents' or 'forms of entertainment', and 'In the commence' instead of 'To commence' or 'In the beginning'. Spelling and word formation mistakes, like 'afford' instead of 'afford', cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted range of lexical items.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple sentences alongside poorly constructed attempts at complex forms. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly regarding verb forms, tenses, subject-verb agreement, and articles, as seen in 'watch the films on mobile phones or tablets are best way' and 'some people have not sufficient time'. Punctuation and capitalisation errors are also present, such as starting sentences with lowercase letters ('i will discuss' and 'on the other hand'). These frequent errors can cause occasional difficulty for the reader.
