Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is irrefutable that watching movie on a big screen gives you a real experience, however this trend is changing nowadays. Currently, people like to watch new movies on their smart phones and tablet, insted of go to cinema. While, some people still believe that, movies should watch on the big screen for better better picture and sound quality. In the upcoming paragraphs, I will discuss both notions along with my perspesctive.

The group who support the idea of watching movies on phone have some valid points. Currently, Over The Top (OTT) platforms provide you all the latest movies, Every individual can enjoy those movies, while enjoying the comfort of their home. Additionally, people just need to pay a small amout of money to buy the subscription of these online platforms and they have access to variety of movies. For instance, a famous online platform charges $9 per month to watch all the latest movies, whereas users have to more than that to watch movie in a theatre for once. it states that, a person can save huge amount of money, if they watch movies on the phone.

On the other hand, if we spend some extra movie to watch movie in a theatre, it is worth of money because cinema provides us an experience that people can not experience at their home. A person cannot compare the picture quality and the sound system of the cinema with other source. For Example, Cineplex in downtown Toronto intruduce 4DX screen in which people can experience the movies in real, such as a rainy scene in the movie provides a real life experience of rain to their users

In conclusion, both entertainment medium have there own advantages. I believe, Watcing movie on big screen has upper hand, because it provides real life experience and people can enjoy movies in better quality.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both views and give a clear opinion: the first body paragraph explains the convenience and lower cost of streaming, while the second argues that cinema offers a more immersive experience. The subscription comparison and the Cineplex 4DX example make the discussion relevant and help support your position. This meets the task well, but the two sides are not developed equally: the cinema argument has a vivid example, whereas the streaming side relies mainly on cost and convenience. The claim that viewers can access “all the latest movies” could also be qualified, and the comparison would be stronger if it explained more precisely why the cinema experience matters to you. Develop each main reason with a little more explanation to make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion that restates your position. Signposts such as “Additionally,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the discussion. The progression is generally logical, though some linking is mechanical and punctuation sometimes interrupts the flow—for example, “While, some people still believe…” is not a complete sentence, and “For Example” begins a sentence awkwardly after the preceding point. Some references are also unclear, such as “it states that,” which does not identify what “it” refers to. Use transitions more selectively and connect each example directly to the point it supports; this would make the organisation feel smoother and more controlled.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “subscription,” “picture quality,” “sound system,” and “real life experience,” and you attempt less common expressions such as “immersive” ideas through the 4DX example. Meaning is generally clear, but several spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “insted,” “perspesctive,” “amout,” and “intruduce” are misspelled, while “extra movie” appears to mean extra money. Some phrases are also unnatural, including “better better picture” and “worth of money.” Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for discussing cost, entertainment, and viewing experiences. More precise vocabulary would help you express your ideas naturally without relying on repeated general words such as “people” and “movies.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrastive opening with “however” and a conditional sentence beginning “if we spend…”. The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “watching movie” needs an article or plural form, “instead of go” requires a gerund, and “movies should watch” needs a passive construction such as “movies should be watched.” There are also agreement and article problems in “both entertainment medium have” and “a person can save huge amount.” Punctuation around clauses is sometimes inaccurate, as in “While, some people…” Aim to make the basic sentence patterns accurate first, then use complex structures with careful control of verb forms, articles, and agreement.
