Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, Some human beings say that, we can see the movies in our phones and we do not need to go to the cinema. Whereas, others believe that people can watch it in the theater However, I will discuss both the views in the coming paragraphs befor giving my opinion.
To begin with, some humans argue that, all the films should be watched on phone or tablets as it gives them more comfort and they can enjoy it on their free time. Moreover, they can see it in divided parts if they do not have enough time to finish the entire film. For example, My friend is highly intersted in watching movies but due to her hectic schedule at work, she is watching it during the spare time and prefers to watch it in small parts. Hence, she finds it comfortable.
On the other hand, others argued that, it has to be enjoyed in the cinema. The significant reason behind this is that they want to experience the effect and sound quality of the movie. Ultimately, it gives them cinematic experience. To illustrate, in my town, people would prefer to watch it in the cinema to feel the entire effect of the movie.
In my opinion, Instead of watching movie on phone, everyone has to see it in the cinema for their own fun. To conclude, there have been two views of watching the movie. One gives them comfort and enjoy it during their free time. While, the other one enables them to experience it's effect.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views: the first body paragraph explains the convenience of watching films in short periods, while the second mentions the cinema’s sound and visual effects. Your opinion is also stated clearly in “everyone has to see it in the cinema.” However, the discussion is only partly developed. The phone-view example focuses on one friend, and the cinema paragraph gives only a general claim about people in your town, without explaining how the larger screen or shared atmosphere improves enjoyment. The conclusion repeats the two positions but does not reinforce why you prefer the cinema. Develop each reason with a fuller explanation or a specific example, and make the comparison behind your opinion more explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the broad progression. However, some linking is mechanical or awkward: “Whereas” begins a fragment-like contrast, and “While” introduces an incomplete sentence in the conclusion. References such as “it” and “the other one” are not always precise, so the reader must infer whether they refer to a film, a viewing method, or an experience. Improve cohesion by connecting ideas within paragraphs with clearer cause-and-effect links and by using explicit nouns instead of vague pronouns.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “hectic schedule,” “spare time,” “sound quality,” and “cinematic experience.” These choices show some range beyond basic words. However, the vocabulary is repetitive, especially “watch,” “movie,” and “enjoy,” and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “all the films should be watched on phone” and “feel the entire effect of the movie.” Spelling errors, including “intersted” and “befor,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise collocations and vary repeated terms—for example, distinguish between watching a film on a device and experiencing it on a cinema screen. Proofreading would help catch spelling and spacing slips.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex forms, including a reason clause (“as it gives them more comfort”) and a time clause (“if they do not have enough time”). However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences awkward or difficult to follow. For example, “Whereas, others believe…” is not a complete sentence in this context, and “While, the other one enables…” is also a fragment. There are problems with articles and number in “on phone or tablets,” and tense shifts in “people argued” followed by “they want.” Punctuation around introductory phrases and commas is inconsistent. Practise complete sentence structures and check agreement, articles, and tense consistency.
