Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays,it is believed that watching movies on phones or tablet are much more getting convenient rather than going to cinema hall. But, some people still go to cinema halls to enjoy films. This essay will discuss both perspectives.

On the one hand, By the development of technology people can now watch films on their hand by smartphones or tablet.well, this have some vulnerable reasons for example, in many areas cinema halls are too far to go.Also the expense such as tickets ,transport cost etc.so, peoples are now getting more reliable to phones and tablets because that are more cheaper and also save their valuable time.

On the other hand, many people still go to cinemas because they believe cinema halls are the best place to watch movies. For contrast, halls are have very well environment for watching cinemas such as big screen, loud speakers to enjoy music and visual effects. One more thing is that the crowd for example,if there comes a fighting scene crowd shout loudly and people are also enjoy the scene more realistic way.

Conclusion, although both have their own way of enjoying it is totally depend on people taste.People who are enjoy to watch films in a calm environment they prefer to watch on phones or tablet. But who are tend to do activities and have to get exciting company they should prefer to go to the cinema hall .So it is,very clear that its totally depends on viewers choice that how they find enjoyable to watch something. So we can say that it totally upto viewers taste of watching.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views: convenience and lower costs of watching on a device, and the cinema’s large screen, sound and shared audience experience. These are relevant reasons, and the examples about distant cinemas and audience reactions help explain them. However, the discussion remains general, and several points are asserted rather than developed—for example, the claim that devices save time is not illustrated, while the cinema experience is described mainly through a fighting scene. Your own opinion is not clearly established until the conclusion, where it is presented mostly as a matter of personal taste rather than a reasoned preference. State your position clearly in the introduction and support it with a specific example or explanation.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help readers follow the contrast. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: ideas are often added as short, loosely connected points, such as “Also the expense” and “One more thing is that the crowd.” Some linking expressions are inaccurate or awkward, including “For contrast,” and the conclusion repeats the idea that enjoyment depends on viewers’ choice several times. Use complete topic sentences, connect each supporting detail explicitly to the main point, and make the conclusion concise rather than restating the same idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “tickets,” “transport cost,” “big screen,” “loud speakers,” and “visual effects.” There are also attempts at less common phrasing, such as “valuable time” and “realistic way.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes meaning difficult to follow: “vulnerable reasons,” “more reliable to phones,” and “have very well environment” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Repetition of “people,” “watch,” and “enjoy” also limits variety. Build a bank of accurate phrases for convenience, affordability and the shared cinema experience, and check that each chosen word fits its context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a contrast between the two views and a concluding sentence beginning “although.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to understand. For example, “watching movies on phones or tablet are” has problems with agreement and number, while “this have” and “people are also enjoy” use incorrect verb forms. Articles and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “going to cinema hall” and the run-on punctuation around “tablet.well.” Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Proofread for agreement, articles, plurals and punctuation.
