Student answer (Band 5.5)

In today's world, people have different opinions about where we can see films. Some believe that watch films on our phone is good, while others argue that see in the cinema is very enjoyable. This essay will discuss both perspectives before presenting my opinion.

On the one hand, some individuals prefer to see films on phone there is no need to go to the theatre because people watch films at there own safe and comfortable place without distercting other people. Also, they no need to pay for cinema tickets. For instance, people watch movies at their own flexible time without any difficulties about time and seats. Moreover, it is also good for those people who cannot afford extra entartainment. Such as, poor people and school students. For example, if a low income people want to watch films but he deos not have money for tickets, so he can easily watch films on his mobile while movies are released on the internet.

On the other hand, many people have an opinion that films are more enjoyable when watched in a cinema. Firstly, theatres provide high quality sound system, comfortable chairs and a huge screen. Also, it provides some snack so, people can enjoy it while watching movies. For example, a large screen and loud noise speakers makes atmosphere more intresting and cheerful and make watching movies enjoyable. Furthermore, in some theatres 3D and 4D technology is available and creates more funny and entartaining atmosphere.

In conclusion, it mainly depends on individuals choice and requirements. However, I believe that watching movies in cinema is really best becuase it provides high quality of speakers and big screen so, it make movies more funny and intresting.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and give a clear personal preference for cinema, so the response covers the main parts of the task. The phone/tablet argument includes affordability, convenience and flexible viewing times, while the cinema paragraph explains the benefits of a large screen, sound and 3D/4D technology. These are relevant points, but some are less fully developed: the claim that home viewing avoids disturbing others is not explained, and the examples about low-income viewers and students repeat the affordability point rather than extending it. Your conclusion restates your preference, though it could weigh the two experiences more directly. The response meets the stated length requirement; the eight words copied from the task prompt are excluded from the count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for each viewpoint, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and also shows some features of stronger progression. However, cohesion is not always smooth: “Such as, poor people and school students” is a fragment, and the sequence of “For instance” and “For example” introduces closely related points without clearly showing how they differ. Some links, including “Also” and “Moreover,” feel mechanical. To strengthen the flow, connect examples directly to the claim they support and use clearer referencing between sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “cinema tickets,” “high quality sound system,” “3D and 4D technology,” and “low income.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation and spelling errors reduce precision. Phrases such as “loud noise speakers,” “more funny,” and “at there own safe and comfortable place” are not natural English, while “distercting,” “entartainment,” and “intresting” are misspelled. Repetition of “enjoyable,” “films,” and “movies” also limits variety. Build a more accurate set of topic collocations and check spelling; this will make your meaning clearer and more natural without needing unnecessarily advanced vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrastive opening and clauses introduced by “because,” “while,” and “if.” The main ideas are generally understandable, but the range is limited and errors recur in sentence construction, verb forms, agreement and articles. For example, “Some believe that watch films on our phone is good” needs a subject form such as “watching films,” and “a large screen and loud noise speakers makes” has a subject–verb agreement problem. In “if a low income people want … but he does not have,” the article, plural noun and pronoun do not agree. Practise building accurate sentences around one main clause, then add subordinate clauses and check agreement and articles.
