Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, technology has made seeing movies more convient by allowing access through phones and tablets. while some people agrue that it is more enjoyable to a cinema, other believe that it's of no use going to the cinema. In my opinion, although there is comfort in going to the cinema, I believe watching movies on our phones are convinent and less expensive.
One major reason why people enjoy going to the cinema is due to the comfort. This is becasue at the cinema one gets to experience better aduiovisuals, a comfortable siiting arangement and a special atmosphere make the movie more enjoyable. For instance, cinemas have larger screen and powerful sound system that make films more exciting and realistic, with a dark room that makes the atmosphere enjoyable which is difficult to produce at home.
On the other hand, most individuals prefer to see movies using their phone because of its convinence. people can watch movie at any time without travelling to a cinema, this can be achieved from the confort of their bed or sofa without having to dress up or leave their homes. For example, someone watching movies on their phone can comfortablly purse the movie to attend to other activities such as cooking, or ansering phone calls. Additionally, it is less expensive. People do not need to purchase cinima tickects and no commuiting cost. A single tream sucription can allow people watch numerous movies over a period of time, which makes it more economical than paying for individual cinema visit.
In conclusion, although cinemas offers a wide range of comfort, I believes watching movies on phones or tablets is more convienent and economical.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both views and state a clear preference for watching films at home because it is convenient and economical. The cinema paragraph gives relevant support through the larger screen, sound system and atmosphere, while the home-viewing paragraph develops convenience with examples such as watching from a sofa and pausing a film. These points meet the task well, but they are not equally developed: the cinema view is mainly described, and the claim that cinemas offer “a wide range of comfort” is not fully reconciled with your preference for home viewing. To strengthen the response, explain more directly why the cinema experience may be worth the extra cost for some viewers, then make your comparison and final position more precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The contrastive opening of the second body paragraph (“On the other hand”) helps readers follow the discussion, and examples generally appear beside the points they support. This coherent arrangement is a strength. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “This is because” repeats the preceding idea rather than advancing it, and the sentence beginning “Additionally, it is less expensive” shifts to cost without a particularly smooth connection. Capitalisation after full stops is also inconsistent, which interrupts the flow. Use clearer links between each reason and its consequence, and ensure each paragraph develops one main line of argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “atmosphere,” “realistic,” “economical,” and “individual cinema visit,” and the reader can understand the main ideas. However, the range and control are limited by repeated reliance on “comfortable,” “convenient,” and “enjoyable,” as well as noticeable spelling and word-choice errors such as “aduiovisuals,” “siiting arangement,” “purse” for “pause,” and “tream sucription.” Some combinations are also unnatural, including “a wide range of comfort” and “powerful sound system.” These errors make the expression less precise, even though the intended meaning is usually recoverable. Build a broader set of accurate collocations for describing viewing experiences, costs and accessibility, and proofread spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concession in the introduction (“although there is comfort…”) and a relative clause describing a streaming subscription. Most ideas remain understandable, but errors in agreement, articles and sentence boundaries recur. For example, “other believe” should have a plural subject and matching verb, “cinemas have larger screen” needs a plural noun, and “cinemas offers” has a subject–verb agreement error. The sentence beginning “people can watch movie at any time” joins two independent ideas with a comma, while “I believes” also has incorrect agreement. These are some persistent errors rather than isolated slips. Check subject–verb agreement and articles, and separate or correctly join clauses while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
