Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this modern era there are lots of entertaining souces available, however, watching a film with your close ones is still a priority for so many individuals. A group of people argued that films can be enjoyed on their smartphones or other devices and there are few individuals who says that if someone wants to really enjoy a movie, then they have to go the movie theater. In this essay we will understand both point of views.
On one hand, there are people who likes to watch films on their devices because of the ease and comfort. There are several benefits according to them which inspire them to watch movies at home. One of the major benefit is, they can pause a movie whenever they want to and after finishing their work they can again start the film from where they left it. The second most benefit is, they can go back if they miss any dialouge or they can skip a song if they do not want to listen it.
On the other side, few individual claims that watching movies in a theater gave them best movie experience. The sound quality and the atmosphere which build inside a movie hall has no comparison. For an instance, if there is a movie which is released in 3D quality with a dolby sound atmosphere then you have to go to the cineplex to enjoy it. No one will get that 3D experience in their home.
According to me watching movie in a theater is still a better choice than watching it on my cell phone. By this way, I am not just enjoying the wonderful experience of the film, but also contributing to the economy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and give a clear personal preference for cinema, so the response covers the main parts of the task. The advantages of watching at home are supported with practical examples, such as pausing a film or replaying missed dialogue. The cinema view is also relevant, particularly the point about 3D and sound. However, the discussion is uneven: the cinema argument is brief, and the final claim that cinema-going contributes to the economy is introduced without explanation or an example. The opening says the essay will discuss both views, but the conclusion could more directly weigh the two options. Develop the cinema benefits and explain why they outweigh convenience to make the position more fully supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a concluding opinion. The sequence within the home-view paragraph is easy to follow, with the benefits presented one after another, and phrases such as “On one hand” and “On the other side” signal the shift between arguments. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the flexibility associated with stronger cohesion. However, the linking phrases are somewhat formulaic, and the final paragraph adds the economic point without connecting it clearly to the preceding discussion. Use more varied transitions and make the relationship between each supporting example and your opinion explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “sound quality,” “atmosphere,” “3D experience,” and “movie theater.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “contributing to the economy.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “entertaining souces,” “the second most benefit,” “build inside a movie hall,” and “listen it.” Spelling errors such as “dialouge” also reduce accuracy. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding the argument, but they make the vocabulary less controlled and sometimes unnatural. Aim to learn common word partnerships and check spelling, while replacing repeated general terms such as “benefit” with more precise alternatives.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional example beginning “if there is a movie” and a sentence explaining that viewers can pause and resume a film. The overall meaning is generally clear. However, some grammatical errors remain in agreement, articles, and verb forms: “a group of people argued” shifts awkwardly into the present, “few individuals who says” has incorrect agreement, and “watching movies in a theater gave them” does not fit the general present-tense argument. There are also errors in constructions such as “they have to go the movie theater” and “watching movie.” Review subject–verb agreement, tense consistency, and article use. More accurate control of these patterns, alongside varied sentence structures, would strengthen the writing.
