Student answer (Band 6.0)

These days, it is argued by some people that we can watch the movies on our moblie phones or tablets there is no need to go to the cinema, whereas , others say that it is fully enjoyed to see movies in the cinema. This essay will discuss both the viewpoints along with my opinion in the upcoming paragarphs.

To begin with, watch films on mobile phone is easy and convenient way because it saves time and travel cost.To explain it , when a person watch movie at home then it saves travel cost as well as it also saves commuting time. For instance, most of the people prefer to watch movies at home because they find it is convenient for them.Hence, there is no need to go the cinema to watch a film.

Apart from this , it is fully enjoyed to go the cinema with friends. This means that these days every one has a hectic schedule so they do not have time to meet their friends , but it is a good chance to see a movie in the cinema and to meet with their friends. For example, majority of the younsters love to watch movie in the cinemas with their friends on the weekends. As a result, it is a good way to spend time with friends.

In my perspective, in the cinema there is big screen as compared to ta blet so it is more enjoyable to watch a movie at cinema than home. Thus, it is great way to relax and get a small break from work by going outside for a movie.

To conclude, although, watch movies at home saves time as well as travel cost , yet, going to the cinema is the best option to see film on big screen.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and give a clear personal preference: watching at home is convenient, while the cinema offers a larger screen and a chance to socialise. The examples about saving travel time and meeting friends are relevant, and the conclusion restates your preference. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the home-viewing point is mainly about cost and convenience, while the cinema discussion focuses more on meeting friends than on why films are better enjoyed there. Explain the viewing experience more fully—for example, sound quality, atmosphere, or fewer distractions—and support your opinion with a specific reason. The response meets the task’s length requirement; 12 words copied from the prompt were excluded from the count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. The sequence is easy to follow, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Apart from this,” and “To conclude” help identify the stages of the argument. This organisation is effective, though some linking is mechanical or repetitive: “For instance,” “Hence,” and “As a result” are used to connect short, closely related points without always showing a distinct relationship. There are also spacing and punctuation issues around connectors, such as “whereas ,” and “Thus,”. To strengthen progression, connect each example directly to the claim it supports and use clearer referencing rather than repeating “it” and “this.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “convenient,” “travel cost,” “commuting time,” “hectic schedule,” and “big screen.” The meaning is generally clear, but the range is limited and several phrases are unnatural or imprecise, such as “it is fully enjoyed to see movies” and “it is a good chance to see a movie.” Spelling errors, including “moblie,” “paragarphs,” and “younsters,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural collocations and avoid repeating “watch movies” and “good way.” For example, describe the cinema as offering an “immersive viewing experience,” and say that it provides an “opportunity to socialise.” Proofreading would help you use your existing vocabulary more accurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex forms, including a contrastive opening with “whereas” and a concession in the conclusion with “although … yet.” These structures help express relationships between ideas, and the overall meaning remains understandable. However, some errors in sentence structure, verb forms, articles, and agreement are evident. For example, “watch films on mobile phone is easy” needs a gerund subject and an article, while “when a person watch movie” has agreement and article errors. The opening also joins two independent ideas without a suitable grammatical connection. Practise building accurate clauses before adding connectors, and check subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries. More consistently controlled complex sentences would make the argument clearer.
