Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this contemporary era, a section of society arised a question that movies can be seen in mobiles insteads cinema, whereas, others oppose this notion, I will discuss both these views with my opinion in upcoming paragraphs.

To begin with, this fact has various reasons that films should be watched in phones. Firstly, in this modern technology mobile is the convenient way to see movies at home. As, it saves huge time as compare to go outside. For instance, if persons visit in cinema, they have to travel and it takes same time as the movie hours. Moreover, this aspect not only useful for having quality of time at house but also reduce the expenses of buying tickets in theater. Nowdays, everything has been expensive therefore, it could be big challange for middle class people to spend money for purchasing tickets.

On the other side, the aspect can not be denied that watching movies outside home has also some remarkable benefits. This has been essential in this busy world to see films in cinema for getting rid from work and tiredness because individual feel axhausted after doing loads of work in their daily routine then if they visit to watch movies, folks release stress and feel fresh that make easy for them to restart job next day. Furthermore, spending some time with near and dear ones is also a reason to watch it outside. As they are always engaged in hectic schedule so this is the best time to allocate with family and friends that make them even more close.

In conclusion, although varoius individuals give the reason to watch movies in phones, this aspect can not be ignored that seeing films in cinema has great advantages rather than watching at home as it is more enjoyable to watch outside.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and give a clear preference for cinema in the conclusion, so the response covers the main parts of the task. The points about saving travel time and ticket costs explain why people choose phones, while relaxation and time with family support the cinema view. However, the discussion is uneven: the benefits of watching at home are more concrete, whereas the cinema argument relies on broad claims such as feeling refreshed and becoming closer to family. The opening also says you will give your opinion, but your position is not made clear until the conclusion. Develop each reason with a more specific explanation or example, and state your view earlier so it is clear throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “On the other side,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the discussion, and the ideas within each main paragraph generally relate to its central point. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and also shows some stronger control through paragraphing and progression. However, several links feel formulaic, and some connections are unclear—for example, “As they are always engaged in hectic schedule” does not clearly identify who “they” refers to. Use linking expressions more selectively and make references explicit, while ensuring each sentence follows logically from the previous one.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to discuss convenience, cost, work, and entertainment, including “expenses,” “hectic schedule,” and “release stress.” There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “near and dear ones” and “remarkable benefits.” However, inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less natural: “arised a question,” “in mobiles insteads cinema,” “getting rid from work,” and “allocate with family” are examples. Some wording is also repetitive, particularly “aspect” and “watch movies.” Build accuracy by learning common word partnerships and checking spelling and word forms; use more precise alternatives for repeated general terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, using clauses with “if,” “because,” and “although,” as well as structures such as “not only … but also.” This gives the response some variety, and the main ideas are generally understandable. However, some errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation remain. For example, “this aspect not only useful … but also reduce” needs a finite verb and consistent agreement, while “if persons visit in cinema” has an incomplete grammatical pattern. The opening sentence also joins several ideas with commas, making its structure difficult to follow. Practise building accurate complex sentences and check that each clause has a clear subject and verb, with punctuation separating complete ideas.
