Student answer (Band 6.0)
Opinions are devided on whether people should watch movies on phone or tablets or watch movie in a cinema. Personally, I firmly believe that watching a movie in a cinema offer more advantages than a smart phone or a tablet. While there are surely some beneficials for phone and tablet to watch a movie, it is ultimately more enjoyment to watch a movie in a cinema.
On the one hand, there are those who argue that watch movie on phone and tablet offer convenience. Proponents of this view maintain that some streaming plaforms provide this service that users can download the movies and TV series on the smart garges and watch it anywhere and any time. For example, a traveler can spend their time in the airplane watch a movie or TV series. Consequently, many people feel that the convenience of streaming plaforms provide the service well for people when traveling or during their free time from anywhere.
On the other hand, I agree with those assert that watch a movie in the cinema provide better enjoyment. This is primarily because movies that show in the cinema provide better sounds effect and better visual effect. For instance, nowadays, lots of movies come with 3D effect and sounds enhancement that only can be exeprienced in the cinema. Therefore, it is evident that watching movies in the cinema provide better visual and sound effect that smart phone and tablet cannot achieve.
In conclusion, while there are certainly valid arguements for watching a movie with a smart phone or tablet with convenience, I believe that watching a movie in a cinema offer better exeprience. It is imperative that the sound effect and 3D effect enjoyment have far more better than watching movie on a smart phone or a tablet.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both views and state a consistent opinion: cinema offers “more advantages,” especially through its sound and visual effects. The convenience argument is relevant and supported with the example of a traveller watching a downloaded film on a plane. Your cinema argument is also explained, but it relies mainly on technical effects; the discussion would be more fully developed with another reason, such as the large screen, shared atmosphere, or fewer distractions. Some points are repeated in the conclusion rather than extended, and the claim that cinema is “ultimately more enjoyment” is not clearly explained. To strengthen the response, develop each side with specific reasoning and examples, while keeping your position clear throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The progression from convenience to the cinema experience is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This organisation is effective, though the linking is somewhat formulaic and some ideas are repeated—for example, the cinema paragraph and conclusion both emphasise sound and 3D effects. Some references are also unclear, as in “this service” and “watch it,” where the intended referent or plural meaning is not fully precise. Use a wider range of natural transitions and connect examples more directly to the point they support.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “convenience,” “streaming platforms,” “visual effect,” and “sound effect,” so the main ideas are understandable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, word-form, and spelling errors are noticeable. Examples include “devided,” “beneficials,” “smart garges,” “exeprienced,” and “far more better.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “provide the service well” and “better enjoyment.” These issues make the expression less precise, even though the reader can generally follow your meaning. Build a bank of accurate topic collocations and check spelling and word forms; for example, use “devices,” “benefits,” and “a more enjoyable experience.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in “While there are surely…” and a reason introduced by “This is primarily because…”. The overall meaning remains clear, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “watch movie … offer convenience” needs a correctly formed subject and verb, while “watching a movie in a cinema offer” has a singular subject with an unmatching verb. In “a traveler can spend their time … watch,” the verb pattern is incomplete. There are also awkward constructions such as “that only can be experienced.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and verb patterns, then proofread each sentence for articles and complete clauses.
