Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people believe that movies can be seen on our phones or tablet and there is no need to watch it in theatre, while others argue that films need to be seen in a cinema to be fully enjoyed. I think that watching a movie at cinema can create much better experience.
Nowadays, the trend of online platforms such as Netflix is increasing rapidly, which encourages people to watch their selected shows on our phones or tablets. Moreover, we can watch movies on these portable devices at our desired time and place. My mother watches her show while cooking in the kitchen.
On the other side, watching a movie in theatre presents completely different experience due to its picture and sound quality. A person can see every details in each frame of the scene and get emerse into the story shown in film. There are many film which are recommended watching in theatre only such as Openheimer. I have watched it in cinema when it was released and in my tablet also, and the sound effects experienced was completely different.
To conclude, watching a show on our phone will certainly give convinience, but I firmly believe that film in a cinema will always give overall better understanding and experience of a movie.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and state a clear opinion: cinema offers a “much better experience,” while phones provide convenience. Relevant support includes your mother watching a show while cooking and your comparison of Oppenheimer on a cinema screen and tablet. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the convenience point is illustrated briefly, and the cinema argument would benefit from explaining more specifically how the large screen or shared atmosphere improves enjoyment. The conclusion repeats your position but does not add much. The response contains 204 words, so it is 46 words below the 250-word minimum; the eight words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each main point with further explanation or an example to meet the requirement and make the discussion more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The progression from the convenience of streaming to the cinema experience is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Moreover,” “On the other side,” and “To conclude” help show the stages of the argument. Some linking is mechanical, however, and the relationship between ideas could be made more precise. For example, “On the other side” is less natural as a contrast marker here, and the cinema paragraph moves quickly from picture and sound quality to a personal example. Use a wider range of transitions and connect each example explicitly to the point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “online platforms,” “portable devices,” “picture and sound quality,” and “sound effects.” These choices make the main ideas clear, and “desired time and place” communicates the flexibility of watching at home. There are some inaccurate or unnatural choices and spelling errors, such as “in theatre,” “get emerse,” “convinience,” and “overall better understanding.” “Every details” and “many film” also show imprecise word forms or collocations. These do not prevent understanding, but they limit the naturalness and precision of the vocabulary. Check spelling carefully and learn common combinations such as “watch a film in a cinema” and “become immersed in the story.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex forms, including a relative clause in “platforms such as Netflix is increasing rapidly, which encourages people…” and a time clause in “when it was released.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “movies can be seen on our phones or tablet” has a number-agreement problem, while “A person can see every details” and “There are many film” contain errors in plural agreement. Articles are also missing in “create much better experience” and “presents completely different experience.” Review article use, singular and plural forms, and subject–verb agreement. More accurate control of these patterns would make the argument smoother.
