Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this digital era, many people opine that audience should not to go to the moive theare to watch movies because they can see films on their smart devices. However, others believe that viewers can not completely enjoy movies with a theares. In this essay, I will discuss both views and give my opinion.

The first and foremost point is that watching films in house provide comfort zone. This is because nowadays, myriad of applications render nuumerous movies on their platforms, so people can watch films at their own time without any hurdles. Additionally, these applications' subscription fees is cheaper than the ticket price of cinema hall. For example, according to a survey it found that in country like India, the averange price of movie is one thousands ruppes per person, while the amazon prime and netflix yearly subscription is thousand rupees. Instead of one person the entire family can watch their favourite movie. Consequently, if viewers watch movies on their smart devices they cannot only save money, but also enjoy together with their friends and family.

On the other hand, other masses deem that watching cinema in the cinema hall is a memorable experience. The movie houses are providing the optimal experience through dolby sound system and ultra-HD screen. Hence, the viewers can easily get goose bumps. Moreover, during the break time audience can also enjoy various kind of snacks and cold drinks with their friends as well as they can get fun through eating popcorns while watching movies. For instance, many people like to go to the cinema hall to watch movie because they want to watch movies as soon as possible because they are big fan of actors and actress.

In conclusion, although smartphones proive different options of movies, it cannnot provide huge screen to watchers. However, I believe that people should watch movies on their smart phones because it provides comfort and saves their money.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and state a clear preference for watching films on phones, supported by relevant points about convenience, subscription costs, and family viewing. The cinema-side discussion also gives concrete reasons, including the large screen, sound system, snacks, and the appeal of seeing a film soon after release. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the home-viewing argument includes a comparison and example, while the cinema paragraph mostly lists features, and the point about fans wanting to watch films quickly is not fully explained. To strengthen the response, explain more clearly why the cinema experience matters to viewers and connect your examples directly to your opinion. Your conclusion could also acknowledge the strongest benefit of cinema before reaffirming your preference.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “However,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the direction of the discussion easy to follow, and the first body paragraph progresses from convenience to cost and family viewing. This meets the lower-band expectations and shows some stronger control through paragraphing and logical sequencing. At times, though, linking is mechanical, with repeated “Moreover,” “Hence,” and “For example,” and some connections between ideas are loose. For instance, the cinema paragraph moves from sound and screen quality to snacks, then to fans wanting early access without explaining how these points relate. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the relationship between each supporting point explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “subscription fees,” “optimal experience,” “ultra-HD screen,” and “memorable experience,” which helps communicate both sides of the argument. There are also some less successful choices and spelling errors that make the writing less natural, such as “comfort zone,” “movie houses,” “goose bumps,” “averange,” and “proive.” Several phrases are awkward or imprecise, including “watching cinema in the cinema hall” and “the entire family can watch their favourite movie.” These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding the main ideas, but they limit precision and control. Aim for accurate collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, use “watching films at home” and “a cinema offers an immersive experience.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple and complex sentence forms, including a reason clause beginning “This is because” and a conditional structure in “if viewers watch movies on their smart devices.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. Examples include “audience should not to go,” “watching films in house provide,” “applications' subscription fees is,” and “it cannot provide huge screen,” involving verb patterns, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. The long sentence beginning “For instance, many people like to go…” also becomes difficult to control as several reasons are joined together. Improve accuracy by checking subject–verb agreement and articles, and divide sentences when they contain several linked ideas. More consistently accurate complex sentences would make the argument clearer.
