Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5

The letter addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly identify the job at ParaMed, explain why it is suitable given your friend's nursing background, and provide instructions on how to apply via online portals. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, maintaining a helpful and encouraging stance throughout. To reach a higher band, you could expand slightly on the nature of the work, such as describing the specific daily responsibilities of a Personal Support Worker, which would provide more depth to your ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a closing. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the task, which helps the reader follow your points easily. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'For instance', and 'In sum up' to link ideas. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'Even which is very near to my home'. Improving the flow between sentences by using a wider variety of linking words would enhance the overall coherence of the letter.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'reputed company', 'healthcare', and 'online portal'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'I hope this letter find you well' (should be 'finds'), 'you will be amaze' (should be 'amazed'), and 'may you can apply' (should be 'maybe you could apply'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over verb forms and collocations to reach a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('this letter find') and tense usage ('you have mention'). Additionally, there are minor punctuation and article errors, such as 'all over the Canada' (should be 'all over Canada'). To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical consistency and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed accurately. Despite these errors, the writing remains understandable throughout.
