Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
The letter successfully addresses all three bullet points of the prompt. You clearly describe the managerial role, explain why your friend is a good fit based on their experience, and provide a logical step-by-step guide on how to apply. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, maintaining a friendly and helpful persona throughout. The ideas are well-developed and relevant to the task requirements. To reach a higher band, ensure that all descriptions are grammatically precise, as some minor phrasing issues slightly impact the clarity of the job requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs for each requirement, and a polite closing. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Also', 'Moreover', and 'First' to link your ideas. While the progression is clear, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical. To improve, try to vary your linking words and ensure that transitions between sentences feel more natural. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different parts of the task, which helps the reader follow your points easily.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'managerial work experience', 'critical thinking', and 'vacancies'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'aware about check-in' (should be 'familiar with') and 'conformation message' (should be 'confirmation'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise vocabulary usage. Expanding your range of collocations and checking spelling for common business terms will help you achieve a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, particularly with verb forms and articles, such as 'able to manage database' (missing 'be' and 'a'), 'answers the emails' (should be 'answer'), and 'you will received' (should be 'receive'). Additionally, 'capable to work-under-pressure' should be 'capable of working under pressure'. While these errors are frequent, they do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions will significantly improve your accuracy.
