Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You clearly described the role of a manager assistant, explained why your friend is a suitable candidate based on their skills, and provided instructions on how to apply via the company website. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, maintaining a friendly and helpful persona throughout. The ideas are relevant and well-developed, ensuring the reader understands the nature of the job and the application process. To reach a higher band, ensure that you expand slightly more on the specific daily tasks of the role to provide a more vivid picture for your friend.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. You use paragraphing effectively to separate the introduction, the job description, the reasons for suitability, and the application instructions. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Additionally' and 'Thus', the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words. Sometimes the transition between ideas feels a bit mechanical. However, the overall structure is easy to follow, and the referencing (e.g., 'this job', 'they') is clear throughout the text, which helps maintain the flow of information.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'candidate', 'dedication', and 'qualifications'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'manager assistance' (should be 'assistant') and 'communication to new people' (should be 'communicating with new people'). You also use 'works' as a countable noun, which is incorrect in this context. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and the difference between nouns and adjectives. While your vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is good. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('a job of manager assistance'), subject-verb agreement, and punctuation (e.g., 'i' should always be capitalized). There are also minor errors in sentence construction, such as 'how much i know you are very focused', which is slightly awkward. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic errors like capitalization and article usage would significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
