Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Aman,
How are you? I hope you are doing well, I am glad to hear that you want to work in my country. Surprisingly, my company will start hiring sales representatives in the first week of next month.
However, the duties of sale representative includes dealing with customer problems, assisting customers, providing deals and introducing latest offers to our customers. The beneficial part is that you already have too much experience in this sector and awarded by many companies for your outstanding performance. In my opinion this will be the best opportunity for you to work in my country with me .
So, I already mentioned that hiring will start soon and i will update you the exact date of hiring . You should check the website of my company on regular basis. In addition you need focus on your CV as well , while applying for the job, please do not forget to add my name as reference .
I wish you all the best and hoping to work together under same company.
Thank you
Babneet Singh

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The letter covers all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly describe the sales representative role, explain why your friend's experience makes them a suitable candidate, and provide instructions on how to apply. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, maintaining a friendly and helpful persona throughout. The ideas are well-developed, and the purpose of the letter is clear from the beginning. To reach a higher band, ensure that the connection between the job duties and the friend's specific skills is even more explicitly linked to demonstrate a more sophisticated level of task engagement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the task, which helps the reader follow the narrative easily. You use some cohesive devices such as 'However', 'In my opinion', and 'In addition' to link your sentences. However, the transition between the first and second paragraph is slightly abrupt. To improve, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that the flow between sentences is smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate for a formal-informal letter format.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message clearly. Phrases like 'outstanding performance' and 'suitable for him/her' are used correctly. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'too much experience' (which sounds slightly unnatural; 'extensive experience' is better) and 'awarded by many companies' (which should be 'awarded by many companies for...'). While the vocabulary is adequate for the task, incorporating more precise collocations and less common lexical items would help elevate your score to a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are some grammatical errors, such as 'the duties of sale representative includes' (subject-verb agreement error: 'duties' is plural, so it should be 'include') and 'i will update you the exact date' (missing preposition: 'update you on the exact date'). Additionally, there are some punctuation issues, such as comma splices in the opening sentences. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent capitalization of 'I' will significantly improve your accuracy.
