IELTS Writing Task 1 question

A friend you made while you were studying abroad has written to ask you for help in finding a job in your country. You have heard about a job in a local company that might be suitable for him/her.

Write a letter to this friend. In your letter

• tell your friend about the job and what sort of work it involves
• say why you think the job would be suitable for him/her
• explain how to apply for the job

Dear Sam,

I hope this letter finds you in radiant health and best of spirits. I received your letter the day before yesterday and I am excited to hear that you are planning to work in my country.

I have recently learned about a job posting from one of my friend working as a hiring manager in Google. They primarily need excellent knowledge of Java programming language. Furthermore, in the job description they mentioned few other skills such as Devops, Docker and Kubernetes but these were in the "nice to have" section.

I believe that you should apply to this position since we have already studied the above-mentioned skills in our bachelors programme at the university. Additionally, I can also provide you the contact information of my friend who is working as a hiring manager. I think adding him as a referral can boost your chances of selection.

While studying at the university, we always wanted to work for Google, didn't we? I think this is your chance to make that dream come true. I will be sharing the job link and you can directly apply on company's job portal.
