Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
The letter successfully addresses all three bullet points of the prompt. You clearly describe the job at Freshstone Brands Inc., explain why your friend is a suitable candidate based on his background, and provide clear instructions on how to apply via Indeed. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, maintaining a friendly and helpful register throughout. The ideas are well-developed and the purpose of the letter is clear from the outset. To reach a higher band, ensure that the opening is slightly more natural; for instance, 'This letter of yours feels like a very reminder' is slightly awkward and could be phrased as 'Your letter was a wonderful reminder'.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the task, which makes the information easy to follow. You use some cohesive devices effectively, such as 'Additionally' and 'Since'. However, the transition between sentences could be smoother in places. For example, the sentence 'And, they will contact you within 3 to 5 business days' starts with a conjunction that feels slightly informal and disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing is consistently clear would help elevate the flow of the letter.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a good range of vocabulary relevant to the professional context, such as 'logistic manager', 'food production', and 'ideal candidate'. There are some minor collocation issues, such as 'a very reminder' instead of 'a great reminder' or 'a nice reminder'. Additionally, 'arranging the carriers for the movements' is slightly unnatural; 'coordinating transport for the movement' would be more precise. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, incorporating more sophisticated collocations or idiomatic expressions would help you achieve a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, and the meaning is always clear. There are some grammatical slips, such as 'Its been so long' (should be 'It's'), 'job duties involves' (subject-verb agreement error: 'duties involve'), and 'studying in United States' (missing article: 'the United States'). Punctuation is generally good, though there are occasional errors with capitalization after commas. Despite these minor errors, the grammar does not impede communication, and you show a good grasp of sentence construction. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and article usage will help improve your accuracy.
