Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You clearly described the job, explained why it is suitable for your friend, and provided instructions on how to apply. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, maintaining a friendly and helpful persona throughout. The ideas are relevant and well-developed, such as linking the friend's past experience as a receptionist to the current administrative vacancy. To reach a higher band, ensure that all details are fully accurate; for instance, you mention 'IT' jobs and 'administrative' jobs in the same context, which could be slightly confusing. Overall, the task is fulfilled effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the task, which helps the reader follow your points easily. You use some cohesive devices like 'Apart from that' and 'This opportunity will not only...', which help connect your thoughts. However, the transition between the IT job and the administrative job is a bit abrupt. To improve, ensure that your paragraphing is consistent and that you use a wider variety of linking words to create a smoother flow between sentences and ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'renowned', 'vacancies', and 'alleviate'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'provide you experience' (should be 'provide you with experience') and 'future information' (likely meant 'further information'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise word usage. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that your vocabulary choices are natural and contextually accurate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is good. However, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'one of the renowned company' (should be 'companies'), 'there website' (should be 'their'), and 'apply this job' (should be 'apply for this job'). Additionally, there are some punctuation and subject-verb agreement issues, such as 'Hope your are doing well'. While these errors are noticeable, they do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and preposition usage will help improve your score.
