Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The letter successfully addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly describe the marketing role, explain why it suits your friend's background, and provide instructions on how to apply. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, maintaining a friendly and helpful persona throughout. To reach a higher band, you could provide more specific detail about the 'local company' or the nature of the 'innovative ideas' to further develop your ideas, as some points remain slightly general. However, the response is complete and fulfills the requirements of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each serving a specific purpose. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Also', and 'Lastly' to link your ideas. However, the flow is occasionally slightly mechanical, and some transitions could be more natural. For instance, the opening sentence is a bit disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall readability. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow, which meets the requirements for a solid score in this criterion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'innovative ideas', 'marketing strategy', and 'leadership qualities'. There are some minor inaccuracies, such as 'creativity ideas' (should be 'creative ideas') and 'program well structured chart' (which is slightly awkward phrasing). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your message clearly, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. Focusing on more natural collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing will help you improve your lexical range and accuracy in future writing tasks.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'as you ask for the advice' (should be 'as you asked for advice'), 'company is hiring' (needs an article: 'the company'), and 'this job will suits you' (should be 'this job will suit you'). These errors do not impede communication, but they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement, article usage, and tense consistency.
