Dear Tina,

Actually, The Sunrise Company, which produces bakery products, looks for a qualified millwright. A candidate needs to have a basic knowledge of repairing and maintaining of the machines. This vacancy is only for an experiences person.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 8.0
You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You clearly described the job at The Sunrise Company, explained why your friend is a suitable candidate based on their experience, and provided clear instructions on how to apply. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, maintaining a friendly and helpful persona throughout. The ideas are well-developed and relevant to the task requirements, ensuring the reader understands the context and the specific advice being offered. No parts of the prompt were omitted, and the purpose of the letter is clear from the beginning.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The letter is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the prompt, which helps the reader follow your train of thought easily. You use cohesive devices such as 'For this reason' and 'Actually' to link your sentences and ideas effectively. The paragraphing is appropriate for a formal-informal letter format. While the flow is generally smooth, the transition between the job description and the application process could be slightly more refined to improve the overall cohesion of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for this task, using terms like 'qualified millwright', 'in-depth knowledge', and 'vacancy'. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'perfectly match with' (should be 'perfectly matches') and 'experiences person' (should be 'experienced person'). While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the vocabulary from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring that word forms (e.g., noun vs. adjective) are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is good. However, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as 'which produces bakery products, looks for' (should be 'is looking for'), 'you've two years of experience to work' (should be 'experience working'), and 'are confident person' (should be 'are a confident person'). These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable but do not cause difficulty for the reader. Increasing your control over articles and verb tenses will help improve your accuracy and move your score higher.
