Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points of the task. You described the job at Bell, explained why it is suitable by highlighting your own positive experience there, and mentioned the need for the friend to contact you to proceed. However, the response lacks a clear explanation of how to actually apply for the job; you suggest the friend contact you, but you do not provide instructions on where to send a resume or how to submit an application. To reach a higher band, ensure all instructions are explicitly covered with sufficient detail.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized with a clear opening and closing. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Further', and 'Moreover' to link ideas. However, the transition between the personal opening and the job description is slightly abrupt. Paragraphing is present, but the body paragraph is quite dense and could be split to improve readability. The use of referencing is generally clear, though the flow between sentences could be smoother to avoid a slightly mechanical feel.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'exceptional result', 'amenities', and 'at your earliest convenience'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'yearly package range' instead of 'annual salary range' and 'comprises of amenities' (comprise does not take 'of'). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your message clearly, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. Expanding your use of collocations would enhance the naturalness of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'you are graduated' (should be 'you have graduated'), 'received your message just few days ago' (missing 'a'), and 'working for Bell from 1 year' (should be 'for 1 year'). Additionally, 'Bell have been hiring' should be 'Bell is hiring' or 'has been hiring'. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and correct preposition usage.
