Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to address the core requirements of the prompt. The instructions ask you to write to a friend about a specific job opportunity you have heard about in your country. Instead, the letter is written from the perspective of someone looking for a job, effectively reversing the roles. You did not describe a job, explain why it is suitable for the friend, or provide instructions on how to apply for that specific role. Because the content does not match the task instructions, it is considered off-topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The letter uses basic paragraphing and some transition words like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Thirdly'. However, the logical progression is severely hampered by the fact that the content does not follow the prompt. The relationship between sentences is often unclear due to grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, making the overall flow difficult to follow. While there is an attempt to structure the letter, the lack of relevant content makes the cohesion ineffective.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is very basic and repetitive. There are several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'shore' instead of 'sure', 'becouse' instead of 'because', and '16 year in country' instead of '16 years in the country'. The range of vocabulary is limited to simple, everyday language, which is insufficient to express complex ideas or professional concepts clearly. To improve, you need to focus on accurate spelling and expanding your range of collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are issues with verb tense consistency (e.g., 'I will look a job'), missing articles, and incorrect sentence structures. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing commas and incorrect capitalization. The range of structures is limited to simple sentences, and the frequent errors in basic grammar make the text difficult to read. You should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions and articles.
